Full Job Description
Director of Account Management

Based in Greater Omaha Region | Full-time | Reports to President

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of Account Management is a senior leadership role, not an account manager role. You will build, lead, and scale the team of account managers who quarterback each client's advisory partnership. Your job is not to run client accounts day to day. Your job is to hire the right people, set the playbook they operate from, and hold them accountable for execution across the entire Balance4ward portfolio. You sit on Balance4ward's leadership team, which runs on EOS (the Entrepreneurial Operating System), and share responsibility for the direction of the company. When the portfolio needs it, you step in at the account level yourself, and what you learn there becomes the playbook you scale.

This is a builder role, and it isn't a job for someone content to keep the lights on. We need someone who creates structure where there isn't any and scales what works as our client base grows.

This is not a Director of Sales or Business Development role. It is about leading the team that helps clients prioritize across their entire operation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead the team

  • Hire, develop, and retain a high-performing team of account managers, and grow that team as the client base expands
  • Set the strategic direction, standards, and playbook for how account managers coordinate each client's nutritionist, financial advisor, risk manager, and other strategic partners around a single, shared plan
  • Ensure every account manager runs a real advisory cadence for their clients: recurring meetings that align priorities, set the right pace, and break the plan into clear phases tied to projected cash flow
  • Coach account managers to walk ownership through projections and closeouts so client decisions are grounded in reality, not guesswork
  • Travel to client operations to facilitate key advisory meetings and mentor your account managers in the field

Own the portfolio

  • Hold the big-picture view across risk management strategy, financial reporting and strategy, and feedlot performance for every client relationship in the portfolio
  • Use technology and AI-driven tools to monitor your team's execution against projections and closeouts, and step in where a plan is drifting off pace
  • Serve as the escalation point between client owners, their advisors, and your account managers: resolving conflict, building alignment, and keeping everyone communicating
  • Ensure owners stay appropriately involved and in control of final decisions while your team runs the day-to-day coordination

Shape the company
Sit on Balance4ward's leadership team and contribute to strategic decisions about product, client experience, and company direction

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Proven leadership and team-building experience: you have hired, developed, and scaled teams in complex, stakeholder-heavy environments, and you know how to hire for potential and build a culture of ownership
  • A genuine understanding of cattle feeding economics and margin management, or the demonstrated ability to learn it fast
  • A builder's mindset: you see gaps, structure solutions, and empower your team to own outcomes
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills: you can lead a room of specialists with competing priorities toward one plan, and coach your team to do the same
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution instincts that get people aligned instead of letting friction stall progress
  • Background flexibility: strong candidates may come from lending, risk management, or feed/nutrition. What matters most is proven team leadership paired with financial or agricultural domain knowledge

COMPENSATION & STRUCTURE

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, plus bonus
  • Bonus tied to the performance of your account management team, including its success growing the number of customers actively using the Balance4ward system
  • Centralized in the Greater Omaha Region; remote is an option within driving distance of the Omaha office for in-person meetings
  • 15-30% travel to client operations
  • Competitive benefits

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

In year one, success means a growing team of account managers running client advisory teams on a real cadence, plans that are phased and tied to cash flow, owners freed up to focus on the decisions only they can make, and a repeatable playbook that scales across your team.
