Full Job Description
ASPIRUS LAKE VIEW HOSPITAL in Duluth, MN is seeking a DIRECTOR - NURSING to join our NURSING team!

Salary Range: $56.51 - $90.39 Hourly
Schedule/Hours: DAY ONLY, 8 hours
Weekend Requirement: Generally No Weekends
Off Premise On-Call: Yes

The Director-Nursing is responsible for the provision of leadership to plan, develop, and direct the operations of the Hospital, Emergency Department, Quality Program, and Social Services Department and to contribute to meeting the mission, vision and goals for Lake View Hospital as well as meet the requirements of the Department of Health and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies. All employees are required to adhere to safe work practices and take active participation in the AWAIR (A Workplace Accident and Injury Reduction) Program as requested. All employees shall actively support and participate in the Quality Improvement Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in a healthcare related field.
  • Experience: Three (3) years supervisory/management experience.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must have ACLS Certification within six (6) months of hire. Must obtain PALS and TNCC Certifications within twelve (12) months of hire - OR - must obtain CALS in place of both PALS and TNCC within twelve (12) months of hire. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network upon hire.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Masters Degree in Nursing or a healthcare related field.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of hospital nursing leadership or appropriately related administrative experience.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
