Full Job Description
Job Summary

Coordinates and oversees districtwide health services programs, policies, and procedures to support student health, safety, and well-being. Interprets and implements applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines governing school health services. Collaborates with the Department of Health, school-based administrators, district leaders, and community partners to ensure effective program administration, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of health services. Provides leadership, guidance, and oversight to promote program effectiveness, quality assurance, and equitable access to health services across the district.

Essential Functions

1. Collaborate with the Department of Health to develop and review the School Health Manual, Annual Report, and School Health Guidelines.
2. Collaborates with the Department of Health, Medical Doctors or family Physicians to clarify medical orders and address school related concerns.
3. Serves as a liaison between students, families, and schools to review student history, determine needs, and ensure proper student placement.
4. Coordinates student transportation to and from school for medically fragile students.
5. Advises the district on health related issues to inform policy.
6. Provides administrative support to school based nurses, assist with school placement of personnel based on need.
7. Serves as a resource for staff for medical policies and procedures.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree from accredited college or university. Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), or Physician Assistant (PA) preferred.

Experience: NA

Licensing/Certification/Registration: Must have a valid Florida Driver's License prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class. First Aid, AED & CPR certification must be obtained prior to completion of the employee's probationary period and maintained during employment in this class.
