Full Job Description
Job Summary
The Training Director is responsible for approximately thirty employees with diverse backgrounds (e.g. Instructors, Licensed Instructors, Engineers, Technicians, Contract personnel, Supervisors, & Managers) and is accountable to the Station Training Council to maintain site training programs (e.g. Operations, Radiation Protection, Engineering, Maintenance, Chemistry, General employee training, etc) and the associated accreditation. The Nuclear Training Director partners with the line organizations to facilitate implementation of the training programs for performance improvement of the station staff.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities
  • Management oversight of the Operations Initial and Re-qualification Training Programs, including the simulator, in accordance with site, industry, and regulatory requirements
  • Partnering with fleet counterparts to maintain the management oversight of the Maintenance, Radiation Protection, Chemistry, and Engineering Training Programs in accordance with site, fleet, and industry requirements
  • Management oversight of the Instructional Technology student program, college programs, and other staffing development programs
  • Maintain active involvement with INPO/National Academy for Nuclear Training evaluations and assist visits, industry working groups, Training Program Review Board activities, industry trend analysis, and monitoring of training effectiveness
  • Serve as a site leader including filling leadership roles in the site duty team, emergency response organization, and outage organizations.


Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
  • Minimum 2 - 4 years of experience providing oversight for accredited nuclear training programs required
  • At least 2 - 4 years of mid-level manager (or higher) nuclear leadership experience required.
  • Four years professional related experience.
  • Two years nuclear power plant experience. During the two years, the individual shall have participated in the operations or training section activities.
  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications may be considered towards some applicable experience of above skills
