Your Opportunity

Director, Marketing Technology Portfolio & Planning

 

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

 

You will lead cross-marketing strategic planning and roadmap development for core and emerging marketing technology capabilities and enablement solutions. Partnering with stakeholders across the enterprise and within MT&E, you’ll gather the strategic priorities and investment proposals from all the enterprises, bring it all together for full visibility, frame it and orchestrate forums to facilitate collaboration, prioritization and decision making. 

 

In this role, you will:

  • Own the long-term strategy, planning framework, and integrated roadmap for Marketing Technology capabilities, ensuring investments are tied to clear business outcomes, marketer needs, enterprise priorities, and measurable value.
  • Aggregates and synthesizes proposed investment opportunities across Marketing, reporting and communicating with leadership, and facilitating prioritization and investment decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional discovery, intake, prioritization, and roadmap planning across Retail, Advisor Services, Workplace, Technology, Data, Operations, and other key partner groups to align demand, capacity, sequencing, and delivery expectations.
  • Act as point person and strategic contributor for Marketing in the cross-enterprise planning process.
  • Partner closely with Technology to understand, rationalize, and optimize the marketing technology ecosystem, improving performance, user experience, and speed to market.
  • Translate complex business needs, risk considerations, and stakeholder feedback into clear decisions, trade-offs, business cases, and execution plans that leaders can understand and act on.
  • Establish and mature governance routines that create transparency, align stakeholders on priorities & risks, manage dependencies and improve decision-making.
  • Use data, reporting, adoption insights, stakeholder feedback, and operational metrics to evaluate capability performance, identify friction points, manage risk, and continuously improve the marketer experience.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team that can influence across a matrixed environment, operate with accountability, build trusted partnerships, and deliver meaningful outcomes at enterprise scale.
What you have

Required:

  • 15+ years of experience in marketing technology, strategic planning, consulting, or related roles with a track record of delivering clear, integrated plans within complex environments.
  • Demonstrated experience developing capability strategies, multiyear roadmaps, business cases, and investment priorities anchored off business needs and measurable value.
  • Prior direct people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, talent development, capacity planning, prioritization, and creating team clarity through periods of change.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand marketer needs, client experience goals, operational pain points, and technology constraints, then translate them into clear requirements, priorities, and stakeholder-aligned recommendations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders across business, technology, data, operations, legal, risk, finance, procurement, and vendor partner teams.
  • Ability to evaluate emerging capabilities and determine practical use cases.
  • Experience overseeing a marketing technology portfolio end to end, including evaluation of new ideas and emerging solutions, project readiness & sequencing, management of budget, spend, and forecasting against expected value.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver clear presentations, tell a compelling story with data, frame trade-offs, and drive decisions with confidence and credibility.
  • Challenger mindset and continuous-improvement orientation, with a passion for simplifying work, improving scale and efficiency, enhancing marketer experience, and enabling modern, high-impact marketing capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree, relevant certifications, or experience in financial services, regulated industries, or enterprise-scale marketing environments preferred.
