Position Summary:

The Director, Market Access will serve as a key builder of CND's efforts to scale payer engagement and coverage influence before full policy maturity, positioning CND's neurodiagnostic test menu to accelerate adoption and commercial growth. Reporting to the VP of Market Access, this role blends policy shaping, strategic engagement, and early access expansion, developing frameworks and executing on-the ground initiatives that support disciplined payer engagement while actively driving payer adoption in a controlled but proactive manner, informed by real-world reimbursement performance and payer behavior.

Job Responsibilities: What you'll be doing...
  • Lead proactive, hands-on engagement with Medicare, commercial payers, and integrated delivery networks (IDNs) to advance coverage discussions ahead of fully established policies.
  • Identify and execute high-value payer and provider accounts for early adoption and pilot programs to influence future policy development.
  • Translate clinical, economic, and real-world evidence into compelling narratives for payers and actively drive their adoption in coverage discussions.
  • Build initial internal coverage frameworks, guardrails, and repeatable playbooks for payer interactions to support early engagement.
  • Monitor coverage trends, payer feedback, and reimbursement performance to guide iterative improvements, refine messaging, inform strategy, and expand payer adoption.
  • Partner with RCM to establish a regular cadence to review denial drivers, payment trends, and payer-specific issues, and translate findings into action address operational barriers and to improve reimbursement outcomes
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Clinical teams to address evidence gaps impacting reimbursement and coverage.
  • Ensure early adoption efforts do not compromise long-term credibility with payers.
  • Serve as the market access subject matter expert for commercial, field, and other teams guiding account strategy and escalation of reimbursement barriers.
  • Act as the public-facing leader in early coverage initiatives, representing CND at payer forums, industry meetings, and strategic account discussions.
  • Lead hospital and pathology group contracting for anatomic pathology services, coordinating with legal, hospital contracting offices, send-out departments, and pathology laboratory leadership to establish compliant, operationally viable partnerships.
  • Translate signed agreements into operational workflows for client, patient access, and billing teams.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 8+ years of experience in diagnostics, biotech, life sciences, or healthcare services with policy shaping and strategic engagement experience.
  • Proven experience managing managed care contracts, building payer relationships, and implementing revenue optimization strategies, including initiatives to influence coverage decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of the U.S. healthcare payer landscape, including Medicare, commercial plans, hospitals, and employer groups, with the ability to align internal value messaging to payer expectations to support coverage.
  • Familiarity with laboratory billing practices, fee schedules, and coding/reimbursement policies (e.g., MolDX, MACs, LCD/NCD processes).
  • Strong understanding of healthcare product development, commercialization, and transitional evidence generation.
  • Demonstrated project management, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, CRM tools, and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Excel).
  • Strong strategic thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to distill complex issues into actionable plans.
  • Experience leading small teams or managing complex, cross-functional initiatives is a plus.


EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Policy, Business Administration, Economics, Public Health, Life Sciences or related field.
  • In lieu of a degree, 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in market access, payer engagement, reimbursement strategy, or healthcare revenue cycle will be considered.
  • Master's degree (MBA, MPH, MHA, or related discipline) preferred.
