Summary

The Director, Maintenance & Reliability provides enterprise leadership and strategic direction for the organization's maintenance, reliability, and enterprise asset management programs. The role is accountable for developing and executing a standardized, data-driven maintenance and reliability strategy that improves asset availability, operational performance, safety, compliance, and lifecycle value. The Director establishes governance, performance standards, and best practices across the asset portfolio; leads the continued optimization of Maximo and related EAM capabilities; and partners with Operations, Engineering, Safety, Asset Integrity, Finance, IT, and other functions to ensure maintenance and reliability priorities support the company's business strategy and growth. This role also provides leadership for maintenance and reliability capability development, major projects, contractor strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead the enterprise maintenance and reliability strategy, standards, and roadmap across the organization's assets and operating locations.
• Establish consistent preventive, predictive, condition-based, and reliability-centered maintenance practices to improve asset availability, safety, and lifecycle performance.
• Set enterprise standards for asset criticality, maintenance strategies, failure-mode analysis, bad-actor elimination, root-cause analysis, and reliability improvement.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Asset Integrity, and Safety to identify and mitigate reliability risks and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Ensure maintenance and reliability programs are aligned with regulatory requirements, company standards, asset integrity objectives, and operational risk priorities.
• May act as lead person or technical expert and provide leadership and direction to less experienced compliance and operations staff.
• Maintains (or acquires and maintains) expert knowledge of Summit Midstream Plans surrounding: Operator Qualification, Integrity Management, and Public Awareness. This is accomplished through extensive reading of the statutes and regulations and consultation with other members of the Asset Integrity department responsible for the Plan(s).
• Provide executive-level functional leadership and direction to the EAM System Manager • Maximo and the organization's enterprise asset management strategy.
• Establish EAM governance, process standards, data-quality requirements, controls, and accountability across business units and operating locations.
• Ensure Maximo configuration, workflows, mobile capabilities, integrations, and reporting effectively support work management, maintenance execution, reliability analytics, inventory, and compliance.
• Lead the evolution of EAM capabilities to support business growth, digital transformation, predictive maintenance, and data-driven decision-making.
• Establish executive-level dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into maintenance performance, asset health, risk, cost, and reliability trends.
• Define and govern enterprise maintenance and reliability KPIs, including backlog, schedule compliance, preventive maintenance compliance, MTBF, MTTR, asset availability, maintenance cost, and reliability trends.
• Use asset and maintenance data to identify systemic performance opportunities, prioritize investments, and drive measurable improvement.
• Lead structured continuous improvement initiatives using root-cause analysis, reliability engineering, Lean/Six Sigma principles, and other appropriate methodologies.
• Standardize maintenance practices and performance expectations across sites and asset classes while allowing for asset-specific requirements.
• Develop and maintain an enterprise reliability improvement pipeline with clear priorities, ownership, timelines, and measurable outcomes.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, Reliability Engineering, or a related technical discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
• Typically 12+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, reliability, asset management, engineering, or related operational disciplines.
• Typically 7+ years of leadership experience with accountability for multi-disciplinary teams, enterprise programs, or multiple operating locations.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing enterprise maintenance and reliability strategies across complex industrial, energy, pipeline, or infrastructure assets.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging EAM platforms, preferably IBM Maximo, to improve maintenance execution, asset performance, data quality, and decision-making.
• Experience with capital projects, asset lifecycle management, contractor strategy, budgeting, and organizational transformation.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Executive presence and demonstrated ability to influence leaders and stakeholders across a complex, geographically dispersed organization.
• Deep knowledge of asset lifecycle management, reliability engineering, maintenance strategies, work management, and asset performance management.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate enterprise strategy into executable programs, resource requirements, priorities, and measurable results.
• Advanced knowledge of maintenance and reliability analytics, KPIs, performance management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of EAM governance, Maximo functionality, maintenance data, reporting, and digital enablement.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, negotiation, and change-management skills.
• Ability to balance safety, reliability, cost, risk, and operational priorities in a complex asset environment.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Travel approximately 20• 30% as required to support operational sites, projects, strategic initiatives, and leadership engagements.
• Ability to work effectively in both corporate office and field environments, including periodic visits to operating facilities and construction/project locations.
• Office setting; ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
• Able to view computer terminal for long periods of time
• Manual dexterity for operating computer and office equipment.
