Full Job Description
The Position

iD Tech is looking for a strategic, yet hands-on, Director of Logistics to oversee our warehouse and logistics operations. This includes vendor management and negotiations, multi-million dollar resource and supply planning, as well as computer/technical asset management. This role requires a leader who can balance setting high-level strategic vision with highly effective operational execution. You'll work across teams and with external stakeholders to ensure that our logistics needs are delivered in a seamless, professional manner for over 75 programs and locations nationwide each summer. The Responsibilities

  • Resource Planning and Budget Oversight

      • Gather equipment and supply requirements from various internal teams.
      • Develop, implement, and manage long-term logistics strategies and annual department budgets. Monitor and revise the annual department budget throughout the year.
      • Assess department staffing needs and develop a plan for staffing that is aligned with seasonal and operational timelines.
      • Plan for and oversee the acquisition of material handling equipment, shelving, and other warehousing supplies.

  • Vendor Procurement and Management

      • Manage the procurement of supplies, computers, and other items necessary to support camp operations. Ensure procurement and delivery timelines enable products and services to be delivered as needed.
      • Lead enterprise-level negotiations and contracting for relevant areas, and collaborate with Legal to finalize contract language and Statements of Work.
      • Annually assess how the performance and pricing of contracted vendors aligns with the needs of the business. Identify alternate vendors if current or future needs are not being met.
      • Communicate clear timelines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth and timely vendor product and service execution.
      • Manage the corporate and camp cell phone account, including payment of invoices, tracking the upgrade schedule, assessing fees and looking for measures to reduce monthly payments without compromising service.

  • Staff Development and Leadership

      • Manage and mentor members of the Logistics Team. Develop the skills and knowledge of team members through proactive coaching, targeted training, and knowledge sharing.
      • Foster a culture where behaviors that lead to strong team cohesion, job satisfaction, and retention are encouraged and positively reinforced.
      • Serve as an exceptional communicator and influencer with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Shipping, Receiving, and Work Order Oversight

      • Oversees the Logistics Team in the execution of work order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving procedures.
      • Ensure department processes for accurate receiving, inventorying, shipping, and delivery of supplies are effective and efficient.

  • Inventory, Asset, and Workflow Management

      • Evaluate, implement, and optimize logistics management systems, and related automations.
      • Implement and manage processes and software/hardware solutions to accurately track and report warehouse inventory and the status of company assets.
      • Conduct periodic audits to verify inventory accuracy.
      • Create quality assurance procedures to test and prep returned/used supplies and equipment for future camp seasons.

  • Program and Camp Technical Support Management

    • Direct the lifecycle, maintenance, imaging, deployment, and retrieval of a large fleet of computers, devices, and educational technology assets used nationwide at camp locations.
    • Oversee staff that provide camp technical and logistical help desk support, including optimizing processes and tools, and establishing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure prompt support ticket resolution for camp staff.
    • Manage performance of contracted logistics and at-camp technical vendors.
    • Oversees effective use of trouble ticketing/help desk tools (ManageEngine) to ensure efficient and effective camp support workflows.


The Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in warehousing, supply chain, and logistics for multi-location service businesses.
  • Demonstrated experience managing logistics of large technology hardware fleets .
  • Experience with the following systems/tools:
    • Trouble Ticket/Help Desk Tools
    • Google Sheet Automation
    • WMS systems
    • Microsoft Office Applications

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Experience with computer and peripheral repair, device imaging, and basic networking desired by not required.
