Full Job Description
What you'll do:

  • Conduct fundamental research, analyze, and generate actionable investment recommendations on Large Cap Consumer and Media stocks, covering all aspects of assigned sector(s) for Large Cap Core and Large Cap Value strategies, whose goal is to outperform their respective benchmarks. Note: the total AUM of the strategies is approximately $10 billion.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and other analysts across sectors to assess company-specific and broader portfolio implications.
  • Interact with company management teams and sell-side analysts to assist in investment decision making.
  • Review, analyze, and present daily news and opinions on large cap stocks in assigned sector(s).
  • Maintain current research and investment documentation of business fundamentals of covered companies in assigned sector(s).
  • Maintain familiarity and compliance with client and firm investment guidelines.
  • Maintain broader perspective about investing and macroeconomic climates.
  • Participate in client and consultant due diligence meetings and prospect/finals presentations as needed.
  • Assist in making quarterly and other presentations on product performance to sales and marketing colleagues.
  • Assume other duties as requested or assigned.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in equity research in the Consumer and/or Media sector(s).
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field required; MBA, CFA, or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven track record of alpha generation/performance ideally documented through portfolio attribution with demonstrable investment acumen across the Consumer and Media sectors.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills along with an ability to analyze, explain, and discuss sophisticated investment products and investment strategies with both other investment team members as well as current and future clients, consultants, and external research teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to learn from others as well as confidence in ability to convey conviction about his/her ideas.
  • High degree of integrity, initiative, results orientation, and entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and comfort with technology; Bloomberg and/or FactSet.
  • Specialized computer knowledge

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this role is $175,000 - $250,000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
