Job Description:Position OverviewThe
Director, Investment is responsible for leading key media investment strategies, partnerships, and agency relationships across Orion. This role serves as a senior investment leader responsible for identifying, structuring, negotiating, and executing media opportunities that deliver value for Orion, its agency partners, and clients.
The Director will oversee relationships with Mediabrands agency investment teams and key media partners, drive the development and monetization of strategic media partnerships, and ensure effective utilization of Orion inventory and investment commitments.
The Director will work closely with senior leadership, Finance, Legal, agency teams, and media partners while providing leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to junior members of the Investment team.
Responsibilities - Lead and cultivate senior-level relationships with Mediabrands agency investment teams, client stakeholders, and assigned media partners.
- Partner with VP and senior Orion leadership to develop and execute investment strategies that support Orion's business objectives, media savings programs, and client commitments.
- Identify and evaluate new media investment opportunities across the marketplace, including emerging platforms, technologies, inventory sources, and strategic partnerships.
- Lead negotiations, renewals, and development of media inventory agreements and strategic partnerships, ensuring favorable commercial terms and alignment with Orion's investment strategy.
- Develop a strong understanding of agency and client media plans, investment priorities, and future spending pipelines to proactively identify opportunities for Orion participation.
- Drive adoption and utilization of Orion media partnerships across agency teams by effectively communicating the strategic and financial value of available opportunities.
- Oversee the onboarding of new media partners and ensure alignment with Orion's investment standards, operational requirements, and media buying processes.
- Provide strategic oversight of campaign utilization, media commitments, and partnership performance across assigned agency and media partner relationships.
- Partner with Investment team members to develop comprehensive partnership recaps, performance analyses, and strategic recommendations for internal stakeholders and media partners.
- Serve as a senior point of contact with Finance regarding deal economics, financial approvals, monetization opportunities, investment commitments, and partnership performance.
- Partner closely with Legal to develop, negotiate, and finalize media partnership agreements, deal terms, and contractual documentation.
- Evaluate the financial and strategic viability of proposed media opportunities and provide recommendations to senior leadership regarding investment decisions.
- Monitor media marketplace trends, pricing dynamics, emerging platforms, and changes in the advertising ecosystem to identify potential risks and opportunities for Orion.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to media utilization, partnership performance, deal economics, and investment effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to improve investment processes, operational efficiencies, reporting, and collaboration between Orion, agency teams, and media partners.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to Managers, Specialists, Assistants, and other junior Investment team members, ensuring they have the tools, training, and guidance necessary to succeed.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining accountability for the quality, accuracy, and timely execution of Investment team deliverables.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment that encourages strategic thinking, accountability, professional development, and continuous improvement.
- Represent Orion Investment in internal leadership meetings, agency discussions, media partner negotiations, and other strategic business conversations as needed.
Required Skills and Experience - Significant experience in media investment, media buying, strategic partnerships, or a related discipline, preferably within an agency, media company, or advertising organization.
- Strong knowledge of the media marketplace and demonstrated understanding of national media investment, including linear television, CTV, digital video, programmatic, and emerging media channels.
- Demonstrated success negotiating complex media agreements and developing strategic partnerships with media companies and platforms.
- Established relationships within the media community, including agency investment teams, media owners, publishers, platforms, and other industry partners.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate deal economics, identify monetization opportunities, and balance financial objectives with client and agency needs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute investment strategies that drive measurable business value.
- Strong leadership and people-management capabilities with experience coaching, developing, and providing strategic direction to junior and mid-level team members.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior executives, agency leadership, Finance, Legal, clients, and external media partners.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, written communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret media plans, investment data, financial information, and marketplace trends.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Desired Skills and Experience - Experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM and pipeline-management platforms.
- Experience managing or overseeing large-scale media investment partnerships and inventory commitments.
- Familiarity with media planning, buying, measurement, campaign optimization, and reconciliation processes.
- Understanding of programmatic media, CTV, digital video, and evolving media investment models.
- Experience developing executive-level presentations, partnership proposals, business cases, and investment recommendations.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to represent Orion effectively with senior agency stakeholders and external media partners.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment where priorities and marketplace conditions can evolve quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate business needs, identify opportunities, and translate marketplace insights into actionable investment strategies.
90,000.00 - 140,000.00
Omnicom's policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager.
