THE JOB

At VEG, we find a way to say YES - so our people can do the unexpected, stay connected to the mission, and understand the "why" behind where we're going. As Director of Internal Communications, you'll lead the strategy and execution of communication across VEG, ensuring leaders, hospital teams, and VQ teams receive clear, consistent, meaningful messaging that aligns the organization around priorities and reinforces VEG's culture.

This role is the connective tissue between executive vision, operational priorities, and frontline understanding. You'll partner closely with senior leaders across Operations, Clinical, People, and key project owners to translate complex initiatives into communication that is simple, timely, human, and actionable. As VEG continues to scale, you'll build the systems, channels, messaging frameworks, and team capability needed to make internal communications a strategic advantage.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead VEG's internal communications strategy, including messaging priorities, cadence, channel strategy, and planning processes that support company priorities and leadership alignment.
  • Partner with senior leaders to translate strategy, organizational updates, enterprise change, launches, and culture initiatives into clear, audience-specific communications.
  • Oversee internal communications channels, including Workvivo, intranet/ServiceNow, newsletters, leadership meetings, email strategy, and internal communication calendars.
  • Support executive communications, including town halls, leadership updates, board/shareholder-related messaging, crisis communication playbooks, and major company narratives.
  • Lead, develop, and level up the Internal Communications team by creating scalable processes for planning, approvals, content execution, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Stay close to hospital leaders and frontline VEGgies to understand what is landing, what is creating noise, and how communication can better drive clarity, engagement, trust, and action.

WHAT YOU NEED
  • 8-12+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, executive communications, change communications, or a related communications function.
  • Experience communicating across large, complex, or multi-location organizations, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences, including frontline teams, leaders, and headquarters functions.
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, editing, and message design skills, with the ability to translate complex or sensitive topics into clear, compelling communication.
  • Strong executive presence and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience advising senior leaders and influencing stakeholders across teams.
  • Experience using internal communications platforms and tools such as Workvivo, intranet platforms, newsletters, project management tools such as Monday.com, and/or engagement analytics.
  • A strong ownership mentality, sound judgment, and the ability to balance strategy with execution in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

WHO YOU ARE
  • Empathetic, instinctively taking a people-centric approach, whether supporting your colleagues or making an effort to understand different perspectives
  • Have a sense of humility; acknowledging mistakes, sharing credit with others, and lifting up your team's' accomplishments
  • Feel a strong sense of ownership over your work, taking responsibility for outcomes and staying committed to achieving long-term, impactful results
  • Curious by nature; you ask insightful questions and continuously seek out opportunities to learn and grow your skills and knowledge

HOW WE INVEST IN YOU
  • Competitive Compensation Including $160,000 - $220,000 base + bonus + benefits.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits that start on day one, and access to free therapy or counseling
  • Paid parental leave, up to 12 weeks at 100% of regular salary, and offering inclusive fertility and family-building care for all types of families
  • Unlimited PTO to use for vacation or sick days-however you need it!
  • Generous employee referral program, so our awesome people can bring in more awesome people.
  • And the little (big) things, like casual office attire, ability to bring your fur baby to work, cool VEG swag, food in the fridge for when you're hungry and free lunches twice a week!!
  • Company laptop and a monthly cell phone reimbursement
