Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position in the United States is $187341 - $248229.74. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Join our Team as a Director, Information Technology!

The Director of Information Technology Infrastructure & Service Delivery is responsible for the strategy, architecture, operations, and continuous improvement of all enterprise IT infrastructure and related service delivery supporting S&C. This role leads a blended-on premise, cloud, and hybrid environment, ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency while delivering reliable IT services aligned with uptime, safety, and productivity requirements. This role serves as a critical partner to business leaders, ensuring technology enables enterprise performance, productivity, digital initiatives, and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Strategy & Architecture
  • Define and execute the infrastructure and service delivery roadmap aligned to business and manufacturing objectives.
  • Architect, govern, and optimize hybrid IT environments, including:
    • On premises data centers
    • Private cloud platforms
    • Public cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Establish reference architectures and standards for compute, storage, networking, cloud platforms, and endpoint technologies.
  • Lead technology lifecycle planning, including refresh, modernization, and decommissioning strategies.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, plant expansions, and technology integrations.


Data Center & On Premises Infrastructure
  • Oversee enterprise data center operations, including:
    • Server platforms (physical and virtual)
    • Storage systems (SAN, NAS, object storage)
    • Backup and recovery platforms
  • High availability and failover architectures
  • Ensure resiliency of on prem infrastructure supporting operations, MES, ERP, OT integrations, and engineering systems.
  • Manage virtualization platforms
  • Own capacity planning, performance management, and infrastructure optimization.


Cloud & Platform Services
  • Lead cloud adoption and optimization across:
    • Public cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
    • Private and hybrid cloud environments
  • Govern cloud landing zones, identity integration, networking, security, and cost management (FinOps).
  • Oversee migration of workloads from on prem to cloud while maintaining uptime.
  • Ensure cloud platforms support:
    • ERP and business applications
    • Analytics and data platforms
    • IoT and smart manufacturing initiatives


Network & Connectivity
  • Own enterprise network architecture, including:
    • LAN/WAN
    • Plant and industrial networks
    • SD WAN
    • Wireless (corporate and plant floor)

Ensure secure and reliable connectivity across:
  • Manufacturing plants
    • Warehouses and distribution centers
    • Engineering sites
    • Corporate offices
    • Remote and hybrid workforce
  • Partner closely with OT teams to ensure safe and secure IT/OT segmentation and integration.


End User Computing & Collaboration
  • Oversee end user platforms, including:
    • Desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
    • Virtual desktop and remote access solutions
    • Peripheral and shop floor devices
  • Support manufacturing specific endpoint needs (kiosks, HMIs, rugged devices).
  • Govern collaboration platforms and productivity tools (email, messaging, file services, conferencing).
  • Drive automation, self service, and standardization to improve user experience.


Service Delivery & IT Operations
  • Lead enterprise IT service management using ITIL based practices, including:
    • Incident, problem, change, and request management
    • Service catalog and SLAs
    • Asset and configuration management (CMDB)
  • Ensure 24x7 operational support for manufacturing environments.
  • Own major incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Continuously improve service quality, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Measure and report on service performance using KPIs and operational metrics.


Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance
  • Partner with Information Security leadership to embed security into infrastructure design and operations.
  • Ensure infrastructure environments meet cybersecurity, regulatory, and compliance requirements relevant to manufacturing.

Support:
  • Identity and access management
  • Network security
  • Endpoint protection
  • Backup, disaster recovery, and ransomware resilience
  • Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Reduce operational risk across IT platforms supporting production and logistics.


Identity & Endpoint Management (IAM / UEM)
  • Own the enterprise identity and access management (IAM) function, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable identity services across on prem, cloud, and SaaS environments.
  • Lead strategy, architecture, and operations for Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including authentication, authorization, conditional access, MFA, identity lifecycle management, and privileged access management.
  • Govern endpoint and device management using Microsoft Intune and related tools, including policy management, device compliance, application deployment, patching, and remote access support.
  • Ensure seamless identity integration across enterprise platforms, including ERP, manufacturing systems, collaboration tools, and third party SaaS applications.
  • Partner with Information Security to design and operate identity centric security controls, including zero trust principles, endpoint posture enforcement, and secure remote workforce access.


Vendor, Financial & Contract Management
  • Manage strategic technology vendors, service providers, and outsourcing partners.
  • Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and licensing.
  • Develop and manage the infrastructure and operations budget, including:
    • Capital and operating expenses
    • Cloud consumption and cost optimization
  • Ensure vendor performance aligns with uptime and service commitments.


Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high performing infrastructure and service delivery teams.
  • Build capabilities across cloud, automation, security, and service management.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive collaboration across IT, OT, engineering, supply chain, and plant leadership.
  • Business Partnership & Manufacturing Enablement
  • Act as a trusted advisor to manufacturing and business stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into actionable technology solutions and roadmaps.

What you'll need to succeed:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in managing information systems, including 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in IT.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in at least one Infrastructure technology domain with requisite knowledge in all others
  • Ability to act as a business partner, understanding service standards and the process for analyzing and recommending solutions to address business needs.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead, guide, motivate, and delegate to deliver results, build teams and capabilities, embrace change, drive decisions and outcomes, embrace culture and inclusion, and exhibit integrity.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills, coordinating internal and external resources, creative problem-solving when obstacles arise, and juggling a heavy volume of diverse projects, including both strategic and tactical assignments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
