Director, HRIS - Workday

About the Role

The Director, HRIS (Workday) leads the strategy, governance, and optimization of the organization's HR technology ecosystem, with primary ownership of Workday and related applications. Partnering closely with HR, Finance, IT, and business leaders, this role drives technology solutions that support organizational growth, operational excellence, compliance, workforce insights, and employee experience while ensuring effective system governance, integrations, and continuous improvement.

Trinzic is being established as an independent public company through the planned separation of KBR's Mission Technology Solutions business, which is expected to be completed on January 4, 2027. This role offers a rare opportunity to join the organization during a pivotal period of growth and transformation, helping build and support HR technology strategies, systems, and capabilities that will position the company for long-term success while serving critical government and commercial missions around the world.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership & HR Technology Leadership
  • Serve as a strategic partner to HR, Payroll, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Finance, IT, and Security leaders to ensure HR technology solutions support business and workforce objectives.
  • Develop and execute the HR technology strategy and multi-year roadmap, aligning system capabilities with organizational priorities, growth plans, employee experience initiatives, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement through the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, automation opportunities, and best practices.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the HRIS team while fostering a culture of operational excellence and customer service.

HR Technology Architecture & Integrations
  • Own the overall HR systems architecture, with accountability for Workday and its ecosystem of integrated applications.
  • Establish and maintain an enterprise integration strategy that enables seamless connectivity between Workday and payroll, benefits, recruiting, learning, identity management, finance, and third-party systems.
  • Partner with IT and Enterprise Architecture teams to develop scalable, secure, and sustainable integration frameworks, standards, and governance.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, performance, and accuracy of HR system integrations and interfaces.

HR Technology Portfolio Management
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management of HR technology solutions across the enterprise.
  • Assess application effectiveness, utilization, business value, and cost efficiency to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Develop a long-term technology portfolio strategy that simplifies the technology landscape, reduces redundancy, and improves the employee and administrator experience.
  • Establish governance and decision-making processes for technology investments, enhancements, and system retirement planning.

Application Governance & Operational Excellence
  • Provide governance and operational oversight for Workday and supporting HR applications, including talent, learning, engagement, and workforce management platforms.
  • Establish support models, service delivery standards, change management practices, and user adoption strategies.
  • Ensure applications remain secure, compliant, properly maintained, and aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Partner with stakeholders and vendors to prioritize enhancements, manage product roadmaps, and maximize return on technology investments.
  • Champion HR data governance, reporting integrity, system compliance, and audit readiness across the HR technology environment.


Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive HRIS, HR technology, or enterprise systems experience, including 5+ years of people leadership experience, such as HRIS, Workday, or HR technology teams.
  • Deep expertise administering, optimizing, and governing Workday HCM and related modules.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide HR technology initiatives and large-scale cross-functional projects.
  • Experience partnering with senior HR leaders and executive stakeholders to deliver technology-enabled business solutions.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of HR operations, talent management, compensation, payroll, workforce analytics, and data governance.
  • Knowledge of HR systems architecture, integrations, APIs, data management, and security principles.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
  • Strong strategic planning, consulting, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and executive presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive transformational change in complex organizations.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within a government contracting environment strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of government contracting workforce requirements, compliance obligations, audits, reporting requirements, and labor regulations.
  • Advanced Workday configuration and system optimization experience.
  • Experience supporting complex organizations with multi-state, federal contractor, or global employee populations.
  • Workday certification(s) preferred.


Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
