The Opportunity:

The Director of Sales, Canada (based in Canada), will lead the Canadian Commercial Sales organization, including ownership of key national accounts such as Walmart, Costco, and Amazon. Reporting to the VP, Country Manager, this role is responsible for setting the strategic direction, managing key customer relationships, and delivering revenue and profit targets across the portfolio.

On a day-to-day basis, the Director will oversee account strategies, lead joint business planning, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to unlock growth opportunities across omnichannel platforms. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of Mattel's Canadian business, lead a high-performing team, and directly influence how iconic brands win in a competitive retail environment.

What Your Impact Will Be:
  • Define and execute short- and long-term sales strategies across major Canadian retailers, including Walmart, Costco and Amazon to drive revenue growth and market share.
  • Build and strengthen executive-level customer relationships, positioning Mattel as a strategic partner.
  • Lead joint business planning, forecasting, and promotional strategies to deliver against financial and category objectives.
  • Identify and unlock new revenue opportunities through data-driven insights, category trends, and shopper behaviour.
  • Drive excellence in omnichannel execution, ensuring strong in-store presence and online performance
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, finance, and supply chain to ensure alignment and successful execution of commercial plans.
  • Champion a customer- and shopper-first mindset across the organization.


Qualifications

What We're Looking For:
  • 8-10 years of progressive sales experience, including leadership of major national accounts (Walmart preferred).
  • Proven track record of delivering revenue growth through strategic planning and execution.
  • Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, joint business planning, and P&L management.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Deep understanding of omnichannel retail, shopper behavior, and category management.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong prioritization and execution skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA is an asset.

*The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
