Job Description
The Director, HCP NPP (Non-Personal Promotion) Marketing Oncology is a key position within the Oncology marketing team and will report to the Senior Director of HCP Marketing. This person will support brand strategy development and lead core NPP promotion for a product to support metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC and HR+/HER2-). The successful candidate will contribute in-depth oncology marketing expertise and work closely with internal stakeholders & external partners up to senior levels.
As a Director, HCP NPP Marketing - Oncology you will:
Key Responsibilities
Leading and executing HCP NPP initiatives.
Develops and leads key elements of the Non-Personal Promotion (NPP) brand strategy for the metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC) and HR+/HER2-
Drives execution of core HCP tactics through the management and partnership with external agencies, internal cross-functional partners, and field sales. Regularly measures the success of initiatives
Implements product promotional communication strategy for HCP promotions ensuring alignment with the overall brand strategy
Gains approval for marketing materials through internal review process including management reviews and Med-Legal-Reg approval
Works cross-functionally with Sales, Sales Leadership Legal, Regulatory, Medical and other key internal stakeholders
Analyzes complex brand opportunities and provides logical recommendations; leads any required action planning
Provides tactical and strategic input on key launch planning workstreams such as NPP segmentation and NBA (Next Best Action) orchestration
Ensures that all marketing activities are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements
Manages the NPP marketing budget and project timelines
Experience in strategic brand development and in leading brand planning for launch products
Experience with NPP and other digital strategies, sales and regulatory policies and practices
Ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-dimensional marketing and business plans
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills and ability to efficiently and productively communicate to a variety of groups and audiences
Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials
Ability to successfully work with external agencies, including advertising, public relations and medical education vendors to develop programs and materials
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, with an understanding of expense budget planning and tracking
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years' Experience
OR
Masters' Degree and Ten Years' Experience
OR
PhD and Eight Years’ Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields is required.
An MBA degree or equivalent is preferred.
An advanced science degree such as MD, PharmD, PhD or an advanced business degree such as an MBA is desirable.
A minimum of 3 years in product marketing or advertising focused on consumers or patients preferred
10+ years of experience
Prior people management experience strongly preferred.
Advanced experience with product lifecycle management is preferred.
Extensive knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical product life cycle management in a variety of therapeutic areas preferred.
Direct-to-Patient
Expertise in prior roles with Advocacy, Community and National Health systems and services is preferred.
e-Marketing
Experience in developing, reporting and communicating HCP e-Marketing metrics.
Experience executing and measuring key e-Marketing tactics including websites, SEO/SEM, web-based detailing, email campaigns, podcasts and digital media.
Experience with social media a plus.
Possess excellent management skills including training, performance management, planning, prioritization, objective setting, recruitment and selection, meeting management and plan execution.
Possess excellent strategic thinking skills with ability to formulate, develop and execute strategy.
Ability to translate market research findings into actionable insights and tactical plans.
Proven track record as an effective leader, coach and internal consultant with demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and turn that analysis into strategic solutions.
Excellent communication skills, highly competent presenter, able to gain credibility, engender trust and influence all levels, strong partnering skills, bias for action and tangible results
Organizational skill, including ability to follow assignments through to completion (bias towards execution)

Be able to successfully perform complex budget management with an understanding of revenue forecasting.
Experience managing cross-functional teams or work groups as well as direct reports.
Successfully develop external relationships leading to brand advocacy.
Direct-to-Patient Marketing Experience
Track record of successful pharma/biotech patient/community marketing with an understanding of expense budget planning and tracking is expected.
e-Marketing Experience
Ability to translate brand objectives into e-tactical plan.
In-depth understanding of digital media.

The salary range for this position is:
Bay Area: $226,185.00 - $292,710.00.Other US Locations: $205,615.00 - $266,090.00.
Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
