About the role:

Spearhead a dynamic and highly skilled team of engineers in the specification and design of datacenter and edge platforms thereby facilitating the use and development of Ampere Computing's products.

What you'll achieve:

  • Leading a global platform engineering team with multiple offices spread across North America and APAC
  • Oversee ODM engagements for lead platforms from concept through DVT
  • Offer critical input to CPU, edge, Embedded Architecture , Sales, and Product Management for next-generation design definition as well as customer engagement
  • Work cohesively with ODMs to draft comprehensive SOW for development of datacenter and embedded platform hardware and software
  • Chief Architect in the development of Validation and CRB Platforms used internally for silicon validation, characterization, and SW development, and externally for customer design-in process
  • Responsible for eliminating HW bugs and deliver platforms on time for the arrival of silicon
  • Manage teams to execute validation plans, schedules and overall system quality & reliability
  • Actively collaborate with multiple contract manufacturing companies globally
  • Engineering team liaison for clarifications related to ODM and customer requirements
  • Managing budgets for hardware team as well as ODM engagements

About you:
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience directing managers and highly technical subject matter experts, as well as growing and developing high performing teams
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience with datacenter, edge, embedded , and system architecture development across multiple full product life cycles, from concept to HVM mass production
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in embedded board designs and bring-up for high-speed interfaces such as LPDDR/PCIE/GbE/USB/SERDES
  • Experience leading Customer/ODM/CM product developments from definition through manufacturing release
  • Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification, and root cause failure analysis
  • Familiarity with Electromagnetic Compliance (EMI/EMC)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Analog and digital circuit theory and principles
    • Edge or embedded computing modules
    • General CPU/SoC architecture
    • Multicore processor environment
    • Platform design experience with PCI express standard
    • Platform design experience with JEDEC standard for DDR/LPDDR memory
    • Electrical simulation tools and models
    • Performance modeling and analysis
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering/Electronics/Computer Science or similar discipline

The full base pay range for this role is between $279,500 and $419,500, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $293,000 and $440,000.
