EPE is seeking a technically driven and strategically minded Director, Grid Resilience Services to establish, coordinate and lead a grid resilience consulting services offering that strengthens and augments EPE’s Utilities’ consulting services. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of electric utility resilience frameworks, utility planning and operations, grid modernization, risk assessment, and the technical, regulatory, and market drivers that influence resilience investments across the power sector. In addition, the ideal candidate should have an understanding of business development and sales principles, catering specifically to utility clients, their business model and their needs. The ideal candidate should have the ability to establish relationships with IOU utilities, RTO, ISO, electric cooperatives and municipalities across North America and ideally with national laboratories, DOE, NARUC, and other relevant industry stakeholders. As a key leadership team member, the candidate will be instrumental in transforming internal and disparate resilience-related offerings that EPE has today into scalable client-facing services, aligning service offerings and product development with market needs and the evolving resilience landscape. This position reports to the EVP of Utilities.

  • Identify priority offerings across advisory, planning, analytics, compliance, grid modernization, DER/microgrid resilience, emergency preparedness, hardening, restoration strategy, and related domains as appropriate.
  • Evaluate competitor positioning, customer pain points, procurement trends, and partnership opportunities that inform EPE’s go-to-market strategy.

Technical Strategy and Capability Design

  • Work with EPE leaders to define the technical approach, delivery model, and operating structure for resilience services.
  • Identify required internal subject matter expertise, staffing needs, capability gaps, and resource priorities.

  • Create an execution plan that aligns business development, thought leadership, client engagement, partnerships, and solution development activities.
  • Support opportunity identification, strategic pursuits, proposal positioning, and client relationship development tied to resilience services.
