Full Job Description
JOB PURPOSE

The Director of Global Benefits is a forward-thinking leader responsible for the design, strategy, implementation, and governance of the company's global benefits programs. This role ensures that benefit offerings are competitive, cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with the company's overall talent and business strategy across multiple countries and regions. This role will analyze current systems and processes and implement innovative and cost-effective solutions to increase organizational effectiveness. This position reports to the Vice President of Total Rewards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

Global Benefits Strategy & Design
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global benefits strategy aligned with organizational goals and Total Rewards philosophy
  • Lead the design, enhancement, and harmonization of benefits programs across regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC)
  • Ensure programs remain competitive through ongoing benchmarking and market analysis
  • Partner with senior leadership to evaluate and evolve benefits offerings to support talent attraction and retention
  • Define and lead the global benefits AI and digital enablement strategy, aligning with enterprise HR technology and data strategies
  • Partner with HR, HRIS, IT, and external vendors to drive automation, system integration, and process modernization with respect to benefits, globally

Program Management & Administration
  • Support the administration of global health, welfare, well-being, retirement, and leave programs
  • Manage vendor relationships including brokers, insurers, third-party administrators, and consultants
  • Lead global renewal process, including negotiations, cost analysis, and plan optimization
  • Ensure seamless implementation of new programs, mergers, acquisitions, or market expansions

Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international laws and regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, GDPR, country-specific requirements)
  • Monitor legislative changes and assess impact on benefits programs
  • Develop, review and maintain the governance model and controls for global benefits practices
  • Manage activities associated with the Company's Employee Benefits Committee

Financial Oversight & Analytics
  • Develop and manage global benefits budgets and forecasts in partnership with HR and Finance partners
  • Analyze program performance, utilization, and cost trends to identify efficiencies
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Drive cost-containment strategies while maintaining competitive offerings

Employee Experience & Communication
  • Lead the development of clear, effective global benefits communication strategies
  • Enhance employee understanding and engagement with benefits programs
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and regional teams to tailor and evolve benefits messaging locally
  • Support well-being initiatives and employee experience strategies

Team Leadership
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global benefits team
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and strategic direction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HR, Finance, Legal, and Payroll

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or related field
  • Master's or MBA preferred
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in benefits or total rewards, including global program management, and 5+ years as manager of people
  • Experience with M&A integrations and global expansion initiatives
  • Deep knowledge of global benefits practices, regulations, and market trends
  • Experience managing multi-country benefits programs in a complex, matrixed organization
  • Strong leadership, vendor management, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to influence leaders and manage complex stakeholder environments
  • Demonstrate global mindset by identifying opportunities and fostering alignment across teams, regions, and functions
