The Director, Funding & Investments, Medicus Pension Plan leads and oversees funding, investments, and financial stewardship for the Medicus Pension Plan ensuring the Plan's financial position is well managed, sustainable, and aligned with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Lead and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Lead and drives a culture of strong financial stewardship, supporting prudent funding, investment oversight, and long-term sustainability of the Medicus Pension Plan.

Support the Administrative Board in establishing, monitoring, and overseeing investment strategy, including asset allocation, investment performance, and compliance with the Statement of Investment Policies and Procedures (SIPP).

Oversee actuarial valuations, assumptions, and funding strategy in partnership with the Plan Actuary.

Evaluate funding risks, benefit sustainability, and regulatory compliance, and provides clear analysis and recommendations to the Administrative Board and executive leadership.

Oversee preparation of trust fund financial statements and coordination of the annual audit, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support effective decision-making and strategic planning.

Ensure strong financial controls and compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal financial policies.

Oversee relationships with key external service providers, including actuarial, audit, and investment partners.

Collaborate closely with peer Directors to align funding, investment, and financial considerations into enterprise strategy, planning, risk management, and operations.

Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
