Director, Fund Development & Communications

The Opportunity

The Director, Fund Development & Communications is responsible for the development, management, and implementation of DEWC's fundraising, donor relations, grants, and communications plan. The director will develop, implement, and oversee a multi-year fundraising plan including major gifts, annual appeal, planned giving and special events. Managing the Fund Development team, this position requires a true strategic partner who is collaborative and capable of building consensus and commitment toward shared outcomes. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, DEWC the Director works closely with the board and DEWC leadership team to ensure the success of DEWC strategic objectives. She will work from a feminist perspective and within an anti-oppression framework.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and at least five years' experience or an equivalent combination of education, and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing fund development strategies and targets in more than one or all of the following: Annual Giving, Planned Giving, Major Gifts, Corporate Giving, Foundations, and Government Funding
  • Ability to identify, influence, and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce (or similar CRM), Digital Communications tools, Communications Planning, and/or Event Planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relational skills, and demonstrated ability to work with donors, funders, volunteers, staff, and board of directors.
  • Proven ability to cultivate, manage, and support high-functioning and efficient teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of the issues impacting women in the DTES, including gender-based violence mental health, homelessness/housing precarity, and substance use.

POSITION DETAILS:
• Permanent, full-time, 9-day fortnight schedule
• Excluded position: Salary Range: $103,721 to $120,098/per annum based on experience.
