Position Overview

This position within Core Spaces embraces ambition and innovation to serve the Core Spaces development and operating funds. The Fund Accounting & Reporting Director is responsible for the oversight and management of financial statement preparation and annual audit, accounting month-end close, cash management, as well as investor communication and deliverables.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain active oversight of the monthly accounting close calendar, including management of process flow, suggesting and incorporating policies and procedures to improve efficiency and change management in alignment with all Finance and Accounting Teams.
  • Review governing documents of the Funds to ensure compliance.
  • Perform analysis over Fund performance and communicate results, including cash management, IRR, and performance fees.
  • Play an active role in the Valuation process, ensuring compliance with Valuation Policies.
  • Review of external financial statements and internal deliverables to executives for completeness and accuracy.
  • Serve as the technical accounting resource for accounting matters, including financial reporting and transactional guidance in accordance with GAAP, Investment Company Guide, and REIS. Prepare technical accounting memos of positions taken by the Fund.
  • Oversee Fund Audits and coordination with external auditors to ensure timely completion.
  • Act as key point of contact with Fund Administrator and other related parties to ensure timely and accurate communication with Investors.
  • Lead Accounting Managers or other support staff as necessary for department operations. Builds employee engagement, morale and motivation.
  • Own continuous improvement of processes and procedures
  • Occasional travel may be necessary as needed
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by management

Ideally, You'll Have

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA or Masters' preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience across public accounting and/or the real estate industry
  • Background in accounting for various types of entities, including private equity funds and REIT's
  • Experience in Yardi and Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Pay Range

USD $160,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 /Yr.
Additional Compensation

Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, up to 20% of base salary annually, depending on individual and organizational performance.
