Qualifications

  • Direct the facility's Infection Prevention and Control programs.
  • Assess regulatory compliance and ongoing infection prevention readiness.
  • Oversee clinical infection prevention programs while promoting patient safety.
  • Assess reporting compliance with CMS, local agencies, and CDC NHSN standards.
  • Collect, analyze, and report infection prevention data with accuracy.

Responsibilities

Summerlin Hospital is a 496-bed hospital featuring emergency services; a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month; a Children's Medical Center with a NICU, a pediatric ICU and separate pediatric ER; advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women's health and oncology care. Summerlin Hospital is an accredited Chest Pain with PCI facility and a Primary Stroke Center and has received multiple awards from the American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines program.

Directs the facility Infection Prevention (IP) and Control programs. Assesses regulatory compliance and ongoing IP readiness. Oversees clinical IP programs while promoting patient safety. Assesses reporting compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), state and local reporting agencies, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) standard surveillance definitions. Oversees IP surveillance and the collection, analysis and reporting of IP data.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Education:

Master's in Nursing, Education, Epidemiology, Public Health, clinical Microbiology or other health related science, required.

Experience:

Three (3) to five (5) years clinical experience in health related field required. Two (2) years experience in Infection Prevention or epidemiology Leadership role required.

Technical Skills:

Computer knowledge and proficiency of Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical analysis programs, with strong overall computer skills

License/Certification:

Current State of Nevada license in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or other related health science if applicable. Current national certification in Infection Control (CIC)

Other:

Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
