The Director of Foundational Science Integration at Temple University's Lewis Katz School of Medicine and St. Luke's University Health Network Campus will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality basic science content through all four years of medical school.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Plans, organizes and teaches both the horizontal and vertical integration of basic science content necessary for student success in all three phases of the LKSOM curriculum. This includes participation in small groups, moderating, and lecturing.
- Provides faculty development and support pertaining to delivery of lecture content and active-learning sessions.
- Maintains open and effective communication with relevant faculty at all LKSOM campuses to ensure comparable student education and experience at SLUHN.
- Works closely with the Director of Pre-Clerkship Curriculum, Course Directors, and Clerkship Directors to achieve relevant phase educational goals. Establish appropriate objectives and oversee content development, delivery, and assessment.
- Supports the Director of Pre-Clerkship Curriculum in implementation of Phase 1 courses at the regional campus. Work with other first and second year course directors and first and second year curriculum coordinators to plan, organize, and implement the Pre-Clerkship curriculum with the Director.
- Works with the Director of Clerkship Curriculum to reinforce foundational science content in Phases 2 and 3.
- Participates in the development of formative and summative questions, exam review sessions, and analysis of exams and any other assessment modalities.
- Participates in the development and execution of Clinical Reasoning Conferences held throughout the Phase 1 curriculum.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTSSitting for up to 7 hours per day, 3 hours at a time, frequently using fingers for typing, data entry, etc.
Education:M.D., PsyD., or Ph.D. or an education/medically related field. Experience in a medical school setting.
