In this position...

As the Director of Global Payments (Ford Pay) you will be the visionary leader and primary architect of Ford Pay, our global payment ecosystem. In this high-visibility role, you will take full ownership of the product roadmap, building a world-class platform that serves as the connective tissue between Ford, our customers, and our stakeholders.

Your mission is to create frictionless, compelling payment experiences that make Ford and Lincoln the preferred choice for customers worldwide. This role sits at the heart of Ford's transformation, requiring a leader who balances deep technical payments expertise with a customer-first mindset. You will lead with empathy, rely on data-driven insights, and possess the product instincts to launch market-leading differentiators at a global scale

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

This role requires a unique blend of strategic foresight, technical depth in fintech, and the ability to navigate a complex, global matrixed organization.

Strategic Product Ownership:
  • Global Roadmap & Vision: Define and execute the multi-year strategy for Ford Pay, ensuring it supports Ford's broader objectives.
  • Customer-Centric Innovation: Lead with deep customer empathy, leveraging user research and data to build features that solve real-world problems and drive brand loyalty.
  • Market Differentiation: Identify and launch "driven differentiators" from seamless in-vehicle payments to innovative loyalty integrations that set Ford apart from competitors.


Technical Payments Mastery:
  • Payments Leadership: Drive the development of global card payments, including but not limited to Point of Sale (POS) integrations and digital gift card ecosystems.
  • Global Scaling: Navigate the complexities of worldwide payments, ensuring compliance with regional regulations, multi-currency handling, and local payment preferences.
  • Technical Unblocking: Leverage deep technical expertise to identify setbacks and architectural roadblocks, generating creative solutions to keep engineering and product teams moving at pace.


Leadership & Stakeholder Influence:
  • Team Empowerment: Foster a high-performing culture through inclusive leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate across a global matrix of stakeholders to ensure Ford Pay seamlessly integrates with Ford's vehicle platforms, mobile apps, and dealer networks.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Senior Leadership Experience: 10+ years of experience leading high-complexity product organizations, specifically within the Fintech or Payments industry.
  • Payments Domain Expertise: Deep, authoritative knowledge of worldwide card infrastructure, Point of Sale (POS) systems, and gift card/stored-value platforms.
  • Technical Product Management: Proven track record of managing technical product roadmaps, API integrations, and complex backend payment architectures.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Demonstrated experience using advanced data analytics and user research to inform product decisions and strategy.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or Business or a related field.

  • Global Fintech Scaling: Experience launching and scaling payment platforms across multiple international markets (NA, EU, AP).
  • Industry Influence: Active engagement with payment networks (Visa/Mastercard) and a deep understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape (PSD2, PCI-DSS, etc.).
  • Business Transformation: Experience transitioning a traditional enterprise into a modern, digital-first service provider.
  • Advanced Degree: MBA or Master's degree in a STEM or Financial discipline

This position is leadership level 5 and ranges from $141,700-$268,300.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
