About the Role:

We are seeking a strategic, relationship-driven leader to serve as Director, Firm Services. This role leads engagement across public accounting firm segments and other key stakeholder groups while helping shape the future of firm practice management, member growth, and strategic initiatives across the Association.

You will lead a small team and report to the VP - Firm Services; you will have a hybrid work schedule.

You Will:
  • Lead the Association's strategy development for engagement with the mid-sized US CPA firm's segment. Identify opportunities to enhance revenue opportunities and lead strategic recruitment of firms to the group for membership growth. Enhance value proposition to firms and support important AICPA programs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to firm leaders, bringing market insights and emerging trends into Association strategy and priorities.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with leaders of mid-sized firms to advance engagement, participation, and growth.
  • Provide strategic leadership for the financial and operational performance of the Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS), including budgeting, revenue management, member growth, and retention initiatives.
  • Partner across the AICPA, CPA.com, volunteer leadership groups, and external stakeholders to advance key profession initiatives.
  • Guide the development of resources, programs, and thought leadership that help firms address evolving practice management challenges and opportunities.
  • Represent the AICPA through speaking engagements, industry events, podcasts, and other channels that elevate the voice of the profession.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team committed to service excellence, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead direct reports by setting clear direction for team performance. Develop staff by coaching, setting priorities, and driving execution against defined goals.

Qualifications

You Have:
  • 8 years' experience in a CPA or professional services firm; or a Firm Administrator working at a CPA firm. We will take relevant experience at the Association or a State CPA Society into consideration as an alternative to work in a professional services firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • CPA designation

The Annual Salary Range for this role is: $145,000- $170,000
