KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Multi-Site Finance Leadership

• Lead financial operations for PAI Pharma's current manufacturing network and establish scalable processes that can support additional sites as the company grows.

  • Evaluate plant efficiency processes from a financial perspective


• Manage, coach, and develop site-based finance professionals; set clear expectations, review work product, and ensure timely, accurate deliverables.

• Serve as a trusted finance business partner to plant and corporate leadership, translating operational performance, risks, and opportunities into clear financial implications and recommendations.

Accounting, Close & Controls

• Own and review the manufacturing month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, inventory, cost of goods sold, fixed assets, construction in progress, depreciation, and intercompany activity where applicable.

• Ensure consistent application of U.S. GAAP, finance policies, data standards, and internal controls across all sites; maintain audit-ready support and clear process documentation.

• Support physical inventories and cycle counts, investigate differences, and partner with Operations and Supply Chain to address root causes and control gaps.

Financial Planning, Analysis & Performance Management

• Lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning for manufacturing operations in the current Excel-based planning environment.

• Build driver-based models incorporating volume, mix, material costs, labor, overhead, yield, capacity, headcount, capital spending, depreciation, and working capital.

• Deliver monthly plant P&L, cost-center, KPI, and variance reporting; identify risks and opportunities, explain performance drivers, and track corrective actions with operating leaders.

Cost Accounting & Operational Decision Support

• Lead standard and absorption costing, including material, labor, and overhead standards; analyze purchase price, usage/yield, labor efficiency, volume/absorption, scrap, and other manufacturing variances.

• Oversee inventory valuation and reserves, reconcile operational drivers to cost of goods sold and the balance sheet, and improve transparency into product and site profitability.

• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality to evaluate cost reduction, productivity, capacity, sourcing, inventory, and working-capital opportunities.

Capital Expenditures & Investment Analysis

• Lead financial evaluation and governance for capital expenditures, including ROI, NPV/payback, sensitivity analysis, capital requests, forecasts, project spending, accruals, depreciation, and post-investment reviews.

• Provide decision support for equipment purchases, automation, capacity expansion, facility investments, and new-product or process initiatives.

Integration, Systems & Process Improvement

• Support financial due diligence and post-close integration of acquired businesses and sites, aligning close calendars, finance policies, chart of accounts, costing, controls, reporting, systems, and local finance capabilities.

• Use SAP and advanced Excel to improve data integrity, reporting quality, process efficiency, and automation; strengthen controls and scalability within the current Excel-based planning process.

• Lead cross-functional finance projects and present concise, decision-ready analyses and recommendations to the CFO and senior leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• At least 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including substantial hands-on experience in manufacturing finance, plant accounting, and cost accounting.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, month-end close, inventory accounting, standard and absorption costing, manufacturing variances, budgeting, forecasting, and capital investment analysis.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and review the work of finance professionals and to influence cross-functional leaders in a matrixed operating environment.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills; experience working with SAP.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to move comfortably between detailed accounting issues and senior-level business decisions.

• Willingness and ability to travel domestically approximately one week per month, with additional travel during integrations or peak business needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant advanced credential.

• SAP experience, particularly within manufacturing, inventory, costing, fixed assets, and financial reporting processes.

• Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other regulated process-manufacturing experience.

• Multi-site finance leadership and experience integrating acquired businesses, finance teams, processes, and systems.

• Experience in a private equity-backed, acquisitive, or rapidly scaling organization.

LEADERSHIP PROFILE

• Hands-on and commercially minded, with the range to review detailed close support one day and advise on a major capital or acquisition decision the next.

• Collaborative and credible with both finance and operations, while maintaining high standards for accuracy, controls, and accountability.

WORK ARRANGEMENT & TRAVEL

This is a hybrid, office-based role in Parsippany, New Jersey. The Director is expected to work from the Parsippany office two to three days per week during non-travel weeks and to travel to the Greenville or Sacramento manufacturing site approximately one week per month. Travel requirements may expand as new sites are integrated.
