Make an ImpactThe Director of Facilities Services serves as the senior leader responsible for the planning, management, and continuous improvement of all campus facilities operations. This position provides leadership for maintenance, custodial services, grounds, skilled trades, transportation, utilities, and facilities procurement while ensuring the University's buildings, infrastructure, and outdoor spaces remain safe, attractive, and fully operational.
This highly visible leadership role partners with University administration to develop long-term facility strategies, oversee capital planning, and manage the resources necessary to support USCB's expanding campuses.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership for all Facilities Services operations across multiple USCB campuses.
- Direct campus maintenance, skilled trades, custodial services, grounds maintenance, transportation services, and facility support operations.
- Ensure the efficient maintenance and repair of campus buildings, infrastructure, utility systems, and physical assets.
- Develop, administer, and monitor the department's annual operating budget while ensuring responsible stewardship of University resources.
- Prepare and submit annual capital budget requests in accordance with University of South Carolina System guidelines and timelines.
- Oversee capital renewal, deferred maintenance, renovation, and infrastructure improvement projects from planning through completion.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish departmental priorities, operational goals, and performance standards while promoting continuous improvement and exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with campus leadership, faculty, staff, students, and the USC System to identify facility needs, prioritize projects, and communicate progress effectively.
- Lead long-range facilities planning that supports institutional growth, sustainability, and operational excellence.
- Maximize the effective utilization of personnel, equipment, and financial resources while maintaining high-quality service delivery.
