Title and Summary
Director, Executive Communications & Global Engagement
Overview
This position plays a critical role in enabling effective executive communications and advancing the operational priorities of Global Communications. The role drives high-impact executive engagement, supports integrated planning for priority global forums, ensures operational excellence across the Global Communications function, and helps foster a strong, connected team culture.
CEO & ELT Communications and Global Engagement
• Partner closely with the EVP of Global Communications, Executive Communications team, and the Office of the CEO on all aspects of CEO communications, ensuring the highest standards of quality, consistency, and strategic impact.
• Serve as the central point of coordination between the Office of the CEO, the Communications Leadership Team, key enterprise stakeholders and external partners.
• Managing the CEO calendar, weekly tracker, and engagement prioritization
oEvaluating and advancing communications opportunities aligned with CEO priorities and criteria
• Lead planning and end-to-end execution of key CEO and ELT engagements, including enterprise events, leadership forums and priority global convenings to ensure a consistent, integrated Mastercard story:
oInternal EVP+ leadership calls
oCEO meetings and networking events during travel to markets
oPriority government, policy and global leadership forums, including the World Economic Forum, World Government Summit
oInternal CEO Awards recognition program
• Partner closely with the CEO Speechwriter and CEO Social Media Lead to deliver compelling, consistent, and timely briefs and content.
• Lead weekly Executive Communications team calls and bi weekly Office of the CEO communications syncs; producing end of week summaries outlining upcoming deliverables and engagements.
Global Communications Strategy and Operating Rhythm
• Partner with the EVP of Global Communications and the Communications Leadership Team to support and advance functional strategy, priorities, and operating rhythms.
• Ensure alignment between communications initiatives and enterprise business objectives; identify opportunities to drive collaboration, efficiency, and consistency across teams.
• Oversee and support key operational mechanisms, including:
oGlobal Editorial Calendar
oGlobal Communications Teams Channel
oWeekly Huddles
• Drive agendas, create materials and manage start-to-end logistics for meetings, including:
oGlobal Communications All Hands
oTeam offsites and outings
• Develop and deliver quarterly operational reviews and periodic updates for senior management.
• Help guide and reinforce the culture of the Global Communications team, ensuring The Mastercard Way is reflected in how the function operates and leads.
• Partner closely with Executive Admin of Communications to manage the EVP's calendar and ensure effective prioritization.
• Support ad hoc requests related to the operations and leadership of the Global Communications function.
Experience and Capabilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and strategic messages for executives, employees, and external stakeholders.
• High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, influence across levels, and navigate complex stakeholder dynamics.
• Demonstrated executive presence and experience advising senior leaders on high visibility, sensitive issues.
• Exceptional judgment and discretion; comfortable operating in a confidential, fast paced, high stakes environment.
• Ability to anticipate needs, manage ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and balance long term strategy with urgent execution.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and operationally excellent, with a strategic mindset and a hands on approach.
• Proven ability to leverage internal networks to drive collaboration across global teams and senior leadership.
In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Purchase, New York: $174,000 - $286,000 USD
