Summary:Cook Children's Director of Epilepsy Research is a core member of the Research team responsible for developing and leading a research program focused on advancing the field of pediatric epilepsy and related neurodevelopmental disorders. You will conduct independent and collaborative research in areas such as seizure pathophysiology, development of epilepsy biomarkers, neurogenesis, neuroimaging, neurophysiology, neuromodulation, brain network analysis, and clinic outcomes in children with epilepsy.
You also will oversee the design, initiation, execution, analysis, and publication of both retrospective and prospective research projects and contribute to the development of complex, high-impact epilepsy research protocols conducted at the organization. This role is responsible for preparing and submitting grant proposals.
Experience- 5 years relevant research experience conducting basic, clinical, and/or translational science.
- Proven capable of successfully obtaining and managing intramural and extramural funding (e.g., grants, endowments, etc.).
- Several publications, as senior author, of impactive scientific results in the peer-reviewed medical and/or scientific literature.
Education- Doctorate (MD, PhD) in a biomedical discipline aligned with the departmental orientation, medical and/or surgical specialty.
