The Impact You Will Have in This Role

As Director, Data Architecture, you will define and lead the enterprise data strategy, architecture roadmap, and governance framework that power business growth, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation. This highly visible leadership role will shape the future of data across the organization by driving modernization, enabling trusted data at scale, and influencing strategic technology investments.

This is a unique opportunity to lead enterprise-wide data transformation within a complex Financial Services environment. You will partner with senior leaders, influence strategic decisions, modernize critical data capabilities, and leave a lasting impact on the future of the business.

Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute the enterprise data architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business and regulatory objectives.
  • Establish architecture standards, governance frameworks, reference architectures, and best practices that drive consistency, scalability, and innovation.
  • Lead the design of modern data platforms, integration architectures, and data products that enable enterprise-wide analytics and decision-making.
  • Partner with business, technology, risk, compliance, and product teams to align data initiatives with strategic priorities.
  • Champion data governance, metadata management, data quality, lineage, and stewardship across the enterprise.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and guide platform modernization and investment decisions to support long-term business objectives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineering, or related disciplines, including leadership experience within large-scale enterprise environments.

  • Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, and DAMA-DMBOK.
  • Proven experience designing and governing enterprise data architectures, reference architectures, and architecture standards.
  • Strong expertise in modern cloud data platforms and architectures, including Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
  • Experience designing scalable data integration solutions, including ETL/ELT, CDC, event-driven architectures, APIs, and Lakehouse platforms.
  • Knowledge of Data Mesh, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), semantic modeling, and data product strategies.
  • Deep understanding of Financial Services data domains, including Risk, Regulatory Reporting, Trade & Position, Payments, KYC, Reference Data, and General Ledger.
  • Strong experience with architecture governance, documentation, and enterprise decision-making processes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing enterprise-scale Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Data Lineage programs.
  • Knowledge of Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Apache Hudi, and Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.
  • Experience leading technology evaluations, vendor selection, and enterprise platform modernization initiatives.
  • Financial Services experience within highly regulated environments.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.

Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC's business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology. The goal of this new department is to partner internally with IT, our business and regulatory divisions and externally with clients, regulators, and fintech vendors, to help build new platforms and business models to advance DTCC's mission to support the financial markets.
