Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in software engineering, with 5 years of technical management experience of software developers and technical leaders and architects.
Preferred qualifications:- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Experience in distributed computing infrastructure.

Google Global Fleet (GGF) is a part of Google Global Infrastructure (GGI) and holds accountability for helping to forecast and meet customer network needs. This includes the supporting architecture required to maintain and deploy our network capacity.
Google Global Fleet (GGF) is responsible for forecasting, planning, and allocating infrastructure capacity for customers across all of Google. As the leader of Fleet Obtainability, Management, and Efficiency (FOME), you will be responsible for managing compute obtainability, efficiency, and capacity experiences for our customers. You will oversee the team building the capacity platform for GCE VM families and evolving next-generation VM families' capacity experiences to maximize both elasticity and efficiency. You will deliver fleet management and admission control to achieve promised obtainability SLOs with optimized efficiency, and provide compute capacity and utilization data to empower GCE products and services.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities- Provide execution leadership on software engineering projects (e.g., resourcing, prioritization, partner team interlock, scoping)
- Set technical, organizational, and business strategy in partnership with technical leads and managers, outlining the team charter, 2-3 year deliverables and how this function can deliver Google Global Fleet and Google Global Infrastructure objectives.
- Contribute to GGF shared mission as part of the leadership team and work collectively to deliver GGF's objectives.
- Lead and scale an organization of engineers and managers, establishing a team culture focused on engineering/product/operational excellence.
- Evolve and scale key current services and systems to meet current needs and making space for future evolution of our key architecture. Participate in customer engagement and collaborate with strategic partners.
