Full Job Description
What you'll do:

The Engineering Finance Director for ES-A is accountable for influencing business decisions aligned to our overall ES-A growth strategy primarily focused on new technology development and investments. You will act as a business partner to the SVP of Engineering & Technology and provide functional leadership to the engineering finance organization to drive strategic finance alignment across R&D, capital expenditures, sales, pricing, contracts, and program management.

In this role you will:
• Provide leadership and guidance on key R&D and capital investments ensuring that the P&L remains aligned with winning priority programs and markets. Understand market dynamics for potential growth opportunities, estimate the financial implications of investments in these areas and partner with the SVP of Engineering & Technology.
• Provide functional leadership to the ES-A engineering finance organization while partnering closely with the ES-A Finance leadership team to establish and improve key performance indicators, drive functional excellence, share best practices and build organizational capability.
• Own end-to-end financial performance, transparency, and governance of the Engineering portfolio
• Continuously improve the engineering forecasting process, including driver-based planning, zero-based budgeting, and prioritization frameworks
• Define and deploy engineering financial KPIs (e.g., ROI, productivity, applied hours, forecast accuracy) to measure and improve portfolio performance. Ensure alignment with functional standards.
• Design and build a scalable Engineering Finance organization, including talent development, capability building, and organizational structure that meets the complexity and dynamics of the ES-A portfolio.
• Drive the engineering capital allocation processes, including prioritization, trade-off analysis, and alignment with commercial, FP&A, and engineering partners
• Act as the integrator across Engineering, Commercial, and FP&A to ensure aligned decision-making and trade-offs across the portfolio.
• Drive increased centralization and standardization across the portfolio.
• Deploy project financial controls and issue standard work for effective portfolio management.
• Optimize resource allocation & investment to drive increase throughput and higher ROI.
• Lead the 5 year Strategy Plan processes through financial coordination and consolidation across divisions.
• Partner with the VP of Commercial Management to review and analyze all group level new program bids cross divisions. Make recommendations on strategic approach to moving forward with bid/no bid and provide insights into risks associated with bid. Consult with contracts teams on the implication of terms and identify any potential financial risks.
• Ensure business performance is accurately recorded and reported and is adhering to compliance, risk & control requirements through accounting standards and regulatory requirements by working closely and collaborating across division commercial finance teams.
• Stay informed of M&A opportunities and how they align with our overall growth strategy.
• Support ad hoc financial analytics and the Group FP&A team as needed.
• Ability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial and operations analyses/reports.
• Working knowledge of financial and ERP systems.
