Catalent Pharma Solutions in St. Petersburg, FL is hiring a Director who is responsible for overseeing engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, facility integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role manages capital projects, supports automation initiatives, and leads a team of engineers and technicians to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
The Role:
- Oversee maintenance, safety, and operational integrity of facility, utilities, and grounds.
- Lead capital planning and execution for facility upgrades and expansions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, cGMP, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain facility documentation, drawings, and records.
- Direct vendor relationships for facility services and maintenance.
- Lead maintenance strategy for all production and support equipment, ensuring uptime and reliability.
- Oversee calibration programs and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Support reliability engineering using management systems.
- Supervise machine shop for equipment design, fabrication, and repair.
- Drive continuous improvement in mixing, packaging, and encapsulation equipment.
- Lead cross-functional engineering projects to enhance throughput, quality, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT and automation teams to implement smart manufacturing technologies.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies for product innovation and scalability.
- Lead and develop a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
- Oversee buyers supporting equipment spare parts and QC operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Candidate:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred);
- Ten (10)+ years of engineering management experience in a regulated manufacturing environment;
- Capable of learning and understanding all functions of the manufacturing process;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and understanding of GMP requirements required;
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred;
- Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience;
- Individuals may be required to sit intermittently, stand regularly, walk regularly and consistently lift up to 44.09 pounds without assistance
- Individual will be required to work in different areas of the building. Including but not limited to office spaces, technical spaces, manufacturing area, warehouse, etc.
