Reports To: Head of Marketing Analytics

ABOUT THE ROLE

Within Marketing at GEICO — a team in the middle of a significant transformation — the quality of our analytics directly determines the quality of our decisions. Getting this right is a real competitive advantage and a must-do.

The Director, Embedded Analytics will define the vision and standards for how analytics is delivered across the Marketing organization — shaping how teams translate complex business questions into reliable, decision-ready insights at scale. This leader will build an embedded analytics function that senior stakeholders trust, that operates with rigor, and that is aligned to the enterprise priorities driving GEICO's growth.

This role operates with high autonomy and real strategic influence. You will set direction across multiple teams, partner directly with executive stakeholders and enterprise analytics leaders, and play a central role in integrating AI-driven decisioning into how Marketing operates. It is a build role as much as a leadership role — and the standard we hold ourselves to is clear: if we can't do it excellently, we don't do it.

HOW WE WORK

The Marketing organization at GEICO is guided by a clear set of principles: we hire the best at every level and invest in developing them. We believe that strategy comes before action — if we don't know why we're doing something, we don't do it. We bring the same care and accountability to how we spend resources as we would if it were our own business. And when there are challenges, we face them directly and collectively. Leaders in this organization are expected to bring that same mindset to their teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Analytical Vision and Strategy

  • Define and communicate the analytical vision and standards for embedded analytics at the department level.

  • Build enterprise partnerships to align analytical needs, identify cross-functional opportunities, and develop shared data and analytical resources.

  • Participate in strategic planning and project evaluation to lend analytics expertise to intake, prioritization, tradeoffs, and long-term plans.

Business Insight and Decision Support

  • Build deep understanding of marketing and business evolution; translate implications into clear opportunities, risks, and recommendations for senior leaders.

  • Review and calibrate analytical outputs to ensure clear causal storytelling, articulation of uncertainty, and actionable recommendations.

  • Champion data-driven decision making and influence how leaders consume and act on insights.

AI-Driven Decisioning

  • Set the vision for how AI should be used within embedded analytics to improve decision quality, team effectiveness, and business impact..

  • Establish standards for the responsible and effective use of AI in analytical workflows, insight generation, and stakeholder decision support.

  • Identify and scale practical applications of AI that enhance how analytics prioritizes work, develop insights, and supports marketing strategy.

Talent and Organizational Leadership

  • Drive talent strategy, including organizational design, succession planning, and leadership pipeline development.

  • Lead senior leaders and build high-performing teams with clear expectations for analytical rigor and stakeholder partnership.

  • Establish a scalable team structure and capability roadmap aligned to evolving business needs.

YOU MAY BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

  • Have led a team of analysts and know what it takes to hire well, develop talent, and hold a team to a high standard of output — not just technical quality, but clarity and utility for the business.

  • Have spent meaningful time as a connector between data and decisions — partnering with strategy leads, marketing leaders, and business owners to make sure insights don't stay in a dashboard but actually change what people do.

  • Are fluent in the language of finance and growth. You're comfortable talking CAC, LTV, and ROI — and you know how to frame analytical work in terms that resonate with business leaders, not just analysts.

  • Have done this work inside a conversion-driven service business — financial services, insurance, SaaS, or banking — where the company's success depends on acquiring and retaining customers and where the stakes of a bad insight are real.

  • Set a high bar for rigor while staying focused on outputs that are decision-ready rather than analytically perfect for its own sake.

  • Operate comfortably with high autonomy and strategic ambiguity and bring clarity to the teams around you rather than waiting for it.

  • Believe AI-driven decisioning is a genuine unlock for marketing effectiveness — and have hands-on experience integrating it into how a team operates, not just a point of view about it.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing analytics or a directly related domain, with meaningful time managing a team of analysts and owning the quality of their output.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with strategy leads and business owners to translate data and research into clear insights that drive decisions — not just reports that get read and filed.

  • Fluency in the language of finance and growth — comfortable working alongside Finance, interpreting business performance data, and framing analytical recommendations in terms of CAC, LTV and ROI.

  • Background in a conversion-driven service business — financial services, insurance, SaaS, banking, or a comparable category where analytical rigor directly drives business outcomes.

  • Track record of setting standards for analytics quality and delivery, including governance frameworks, output calibration, and stakeholder communication norms.

  • Strong executive communication and influence skills — demonstrated ability to present complex analytical findings to senior leadership and drive alignment on recommended actions.

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field required; Master's degree preferred.

STRONG CANDIDATES MAY ALSO HAVE

  • Experience influencing enterprise analytics strategy across multiple functions or business units.

  • Proven hands-on analytics experience across a broad range of marketing domains, including performance, brand, product, and customer marketing.

  • Hands-on experience using AI tools — including large language models, automated insight generation, or AI-assisted workflow tooling — to improve team productivity and analytical output.

  • Experience in Property and Casualty insurance or financial services specifically.

  • Experience owning vendor relationships across analytics tools, platforms, and agencies.
