Job Overview

StoryWorks defines how SharkNinja tells its story.

We are hiring a Director, Editorial & Enterprise Storytelling to operate as our in-house journalist. This role reports directly to the Chief Communications Officer and is responsible for finding, reporting, and telling the most important stories across SharkNinja. The Director, Editorial & Enterprise Storytelling is designed for candidates with a strong editorial or journalism background. It is not a traditional internal communications or marketing content role. If you are someone who sees stories others miss and knows how to turn them into something people actually want to read, we want to hear from you.

You will not be handed content to refine. You will go out and get the story across our products, people, and business, and turn it into clear, compelling narratives that help people understand what we are doing and why it matters. Your work will shape how the company communicates with itself and how leadership shows up. It will inform executive messaging and drive storytelling that carries across internal and external channels.

At key company moments, the Director, Editorial & Enterprise Storytelling will step in to support global communications around major initiatives, changes, and announcements. The expectation is that you bring clarity, structure, and strong storytelling when it matters most. This is a role for someone who knows how to report, write, and push for clarity. Someone who treats the company like a beat and the business like a source.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, report, and write the most important stories across SharkNinja, covering innovation, design, culture, and business priorities
  • Act as the most senior writer on the team, setting the standard for how company narratives are expressed with clarity, precision, and strong editorial judgment
  • Develop original content grounded in reporting, not repackaging existing materials
  • Partner closely with the Chief Communications Officer to translate company priorities into clear, compelling storytelling
  • Turn complex topics into content that is direct, engaging, and easy to understand
  • Bring a strong point of view on how stories should be told, raising the standard of writing across the organization
  • Apply a consumer-first lens to enterprise storytelling, making content as engaging as the products we build
  • Create content that supports executive messaging and extends across internal and external channels
  • Connect stories across teams and initiatives, with a strong focus on design, product innovation, and what differentiates SharkNinja in the market
  • Operate at newsroom pace, producing high-quality content quickly without sacrificing clarity or quality
  • Manage and scale output through freelance writers and creative partners as needed
  • Step in during key company moments to support global communications, bringing structure, clarity, and strong storytelling to major initiatives and announcements
  • Help others across the organization become better storytellers, guiding leaders and teams on how to surface, shape, and communicate stronger narratives

Skills Required

Experience
  • 10+ years in journalism, reporting, or editorial roles in a newsroom, media organization, or equivalent environment
  • Proven experience producing original reporting, not just editing or repackaging content
  • Experience covering companies, products, design, innovation, or business strategy
  • Experience working with senior leaders or executives to shape high-stakes messaging

Core Skills
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a clear, confident voice
  • Strong reporting instincts with the ability to find the story, not wait for it
  • Ability to distill complex ideas into simple, direct, and engaging narratives
  • Sharp editorial judgment on what matters and what does not
  • Strong instinct for visual storytelling and appreciation for design, product, and innovation

Ways of Working
  • Experience working in fast-paced editorial environments with tight timelines and high standards
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and develop clear narratives without perfect inputs
  • Strong ability to work directly with senior stakeholders and move work forward
  • High standards for accuracy, clarity, and quality

Mindset & Attributes
  • Rarely Satisfied, always pushing for stronger, clearer storytelling
  • Curious, direct, and willing to ask hard questions to get to the truth of a story
  • Strong point of view, balanced with the ability to adapt to different voices and audiences
  • Deep interest in products, design, and how companies build and scale innovation
