OverviewAs the Global Operational Technology (OT) Domain Architect, you will define and govern the architecture strategy, standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps for PepsiCo's Operational Technology landscape. You will provide architecture leadership across IT/OT convergence, OT architecture governance, OT data & information architecture, OT systems management (OTSM), Industry 4.0 architecture enablement, and OT modernization strategy initiatives supporting PepsiCo's operational environments across Manufacturing, Warehousing, and other operational technology-enabled environments.
You will partner with Engineering, Controls Engineering, Infrastructure, Network Engineering, Compute & Hosting, Cybersecurity, Data & AI, Product, Transformation, and Domain Architecture teams to define integrated architecture strategies, standards, and roadmaps supporting secure, resilient, scalable, and future-ready operational technology ecosystems.
You will serve as the primary architecture leader for the OT domain, ensuring alignment across operational technology, enterprise technology, automation, and emerging Industry 4.0 capabilities through architecture standards, governance frameworks, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps.
ResponsibilitiesOT Domain Strategy & Architecture:
- Define and maintain the Operational Technology domain strategy, standards, reference architectures, principles, and multi-year technology roadmaps.
- Establish architecture direction supporting IT/OT convergence, OT modernization, operational resiliency, and future operational technology capabilities.
- Evaluate emerging operational technologies in partnership with Technology Strategy, Innovation, and Engineering teams, and define scalable adoption approaches aligned to enterprise standards, business priorities, and long-term technology strategy.
- Define architecture enablement strategies supporting Industry 4.0 initiatives including industrial AI, robotics, autonomous operations, advanced sensing, industrial automation, and future operational technologies.
IT/OT Convergence & Governance:
- Define architecture frameworks supporting convergence of IT and OT capabilities while maintaining operational safety, reliability, availability, and security requirements.
- Establish OT architecture governance frameworks, reference architectures, standards, and decision frameworks supporting global operational environments.
- Drive alignment of OT capabilities with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and operational technology strategies.
- Facilitate cross-functional architecture alignment across Engineering, Operations, Infrastructure, Security, Data & AI, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
OT Process Integration Architecture:
- Define reference architectures and integration patterns supporting OT lifecycle management, incident management, operational monitoring, observability, and operational support capabilities.
- Establish architecture principles that balance enterprise consistency with OT requirements for operational continuity and low-latency environments.
- Define reference architectures supporting integrated IT/OT operating models and governance frameworks.
- Promote architectural consistency and standardization across operational environments globally.
OT Data Strategy & Information Architecture:
- Define OT data architecture principles, information models, classification standards, interoperability requirements, and architecture governance frameworks.
- Partner with Data & AI teams to align OT information architecture and data integration requirements with enterprise data standards and platforms.
- Define architecture patterns supporting OT data acquisition, integration, visibility, observability, and interoperability across operational technology and enterprise technology environments.
- Promote consistency of OT data models, metadata standards, information structures, and data exchange patterns across operational environments.
OT Systems Management & Modernization:
- Define architecture strategies supporting OT systems management, lifecycle management, modernization, and technology standardization initiatives.
- Establish reference architectures supporting asset discovery, observability, monitoring, operational support, and OT lifecycle capabilities.
- Define architecture patterns supporting industrial connectivity, operational intelligence, and future Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Guide technology modernization and rationalization efforts across operational technology environments while maintaining operational continuity.
Vendor & Ecosystem Architecture:
- Provide architectural guidance for operational technology vendors, OEMs, automation providers, and industrial technology ecosystems.
- Establish architecture standards, reference patterns, and integration approaches supporting interoperability across operational technology platforms and environments.
- Support evaluation of technology options, modernization pathways, and platform strategies in collaboration with Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Procurement, and Technology Strategy teams.
- Guide architectural considerations related to vendor dependencies, technology roadmaps, interoperability, supportability, lifecycle considerations, and long-term platform sustainability.
Cross-Functional Architecture Leadership:
- Partner with Engineering, Controls Engineering, Infrastructure, Network Engineering, Compute & Hosting, Cybersecurity, Data & AI, Product, Transformation, and Enterprise Architecture teams to define integrated architecture strategies and roadmaps.
- Act as the primary architecture integration point across operational technology and enterprise technology domains.
- Lead OT architecture reviews and governance activities to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and strategic objectives.
- Provide architecture leadership and consultation supporting operational technology initiatives globally.
Compensation & Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $132,200 - $262,400.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 25% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
- Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.

Qualifications- 15+ years of experience in Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Automation, Enterprise Architecture, Engineering Systems, or related technology leadership roles.
- Deep understanding of Operational Technology ecosystems supporting Manufacturing, Warehousing, facility automation, material handling, and automated operational environments.
- Experience defining architecture strategies, standards, reference architectures, governance frameworks, and multi-year technology roadmaps.
- Strong understanding of IT/OT convergence, OT architecture governance, OT systems management (OTSM), OT lifecycle management, operational resiliency, and operational risk management.
- Deep understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies and architecture patterns including industrial IoT, industrial AI, automation systems, robotics, autonomous operations, advanced sensing, operational intelligence, and emerging operational technologies.
- Experience defining OT data architecture, information models, interoperability standards, metadata standards, and integration architectures across operational and enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of industrial control system environments, industrial communications, plant systems, operational data flows, and operational technology architectures.
- Experience developing architecture strategies supporting OT modernization, technology rationalization, lifecycle management, and technology standardization initiatives.
- Strong understanding of operational technology vendor ecosystems, OEM environments, modernization approaches, and platform lifecycle considerations.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate across Engineering, Controls Engineering, Infrastructure, Networking, Compute & Hosting, Cybersecurity, Data & AI, Product, and Domain Architecture organizations.
