  • Position Purpose

Heritage is seeking a Director of Digital Product to define and lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap, delivering a best0in0class digital experience for professional contractors across our websites and mobile apps. This leader will shape the future of how contractors discover products, manage their accounts, and run their jobs through seamless digital tools. The role requires an understanding of contractor workflows and the ability to translate pain points and insights into innovative, scalable digital solutions. The Director will identify high0impact opportunities, remove friction across the end0to0end customer journey, and drive measurable improvements in engagement, conversion, retention, and customer satisfaction. Partnering closely with engineering, UX, operations, marketing, sales, and analytics, this leader will champion the voice of the contractor and ensure our digital products deliver speed, reliability, and value that help professionals work more efficiently and grow their business

Key Responsibilities

Digital Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Drive the vision, strategy, and execution of the Heritage digital roadmap, delivering an industry-leading experience for professional contractors.
  • Identify and unlock new revenue and engagement opportunities leveraging customer insights, analytics, and innovative product strategies.
  • Prioritizing features and enhancements based on business needs and customer feedback, and field insights.
  • Communicate product vision, progress, and results to senior leadership and cross0functional partners, ensuring transparency and alignment
  • Ensure product decisions balance contractor needs, business objectives, and operational feasibility.

Product Delivery & Execution

  • Translate product strategy into clear, prioritized roadmaps and actionable plans that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Lead agile product delivery and cross-functional execution across product, engineering, design, and stakeholders to ensure aligned, on-time delivery
  • Own prioritization and trade-offs, balancing customer needs, revenue impact, and operational constraints
  • Ensure delivery excellence by monitoring progress, removing blockers, and improving team velocity and predictability
  • Establish and scale product management best practices, coaching teams and standardizing processes for consistent execution

Insights into Action

  • Champion a data-driven, user-centric approach, utilizing analytics to measure and improve digital performance
  • Define and track KPIs related to digital adoption, usage, order efficiency, account growth, and contractor satisfaction.
  • Use data to identify optimization opportunities and ensure continuous improvement of key funnels and user journeys.
  • Translate insights into product strategies, requirements, and prioritized backlogs.
  • Lead experimentation priorities with clear hypotheses, test design, measurement plans, and value assessment.

Customer Experience & Enablement

  • Lead customer and market research to deeply understand contractor workflows, pain points, purchasing behavior, and digital expectations.
  • Lead the redesign of the eCommerce sites and apps to deliver modern, intuitive, frictionless contractor experience.
  • Champion the voice of the contractor and advocate for simple, efficient, and aligned with real-world workflows.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices, incorporating new concepts into product designs and features.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Build trusted, collaborative partnerships across Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Analytics, acting as the connective tissue for all digital initiatives.
  • Influence without authority, driving alignment around priorities, timelines, and desired outcomes.
  • Clearly communicate tradeoffs, dependencies, and decisions clearly to leadership team providing transparency and accountability.

Team Leadership

  • Mentor and develop product managers and design team members, to elevate product practices and foster an innovative, collaborative culture.
  • Build a high0performing product function with strong execution, customer empathy, and cross0functional alignment.

Success requires strong prioritization, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple product streams simultaneously while driving meaningful impact.

  • 10 years of product management experience, with 5+ years leading product teams; experience with core eCommerce capabilities in retail or B2B.
  • Proven track record building and optimizing eCommerce experiences that drive measurable business impact; B2B or digital distribution experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated success driving adoption, retention, and customer lifetime value through improvements to digital experiences
  • Deep expertise in one or more of the following: product discovery optimization, site search, product recommendations, checkout funnel, content strategy, distribution tools: quotes, estimates, project management, etc.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross functional teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the experience translating business goals into roadmaps, KPIs, and actionable execution plans.
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable with KPI setting, performance analysis, and test0and0learn approaches.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; able to articulate digital value to executives and partners.
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, make strategy tradeoffs, and balance long- term investments with near-term business results.
  • Understanding of digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building or optimizing digital experiences for trade professionals in industries like building products, pool, landscape, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, construction supply, industrial distribution, or related B2B verticals.
  • Deep understanding of contractor workflows such as quote0to0order, repeat ordering, job0site deliveries, will0call/pickup, and multi0location account management.
  • Experience with complex B2B eCommerce capabilities including contract pricing, account hierarchies, custom catalogs, credit terms, punchout, and advanced search for technical products.
  • Executive0level communication skills with experience influencing C0suite leaders.
  • A track record of orchestrating cross-functional teams under tight timelines.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, PIM platforms, CRM tools, and other enterprise systems common in distribution environments.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor0s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Preferred Education

  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree in a business or technology discipline.

Minimum Years of Work Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years in product management or digital platform leadership.
