The pay range is $135,000.00 - $243,000.00

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. As the DirectorDigital Marketing Strategy, Sitewide you will elevate Target’s beloved experience to the digital shopping experience that achieves aggressive business growth goals. Your scope will include top enterprise priorities, including Homepage, Seasonal Hubs, Gifting destinations, and loyalty.  

 

You will lead the development of guest engagement strategies that optimize digital performance, improve conversion, and deliver seamless, joyful shopping experiences. You will lead a team of Digital Marketers, leveraging your strong leadership skills to manage a portfolio of top of funnel experiences & initiatives. You are consumer obsessed and will work cross functionally to drive integrated digital engagement strategies, while always evolving for the future. This role requires a strategic digital marketing mindset, reporting & analytical skills complimented by creativity and an eye for trend, strategic activation, team and enterprise leadership. You will have the opportunity to help shape the future of Digital at Target, leading with vision and grit through a high degree of change and ambiguity. 

 

Core Responsibilities: 

Strategic Planning & Execution Oversite: Develop annual & quarterly strategic frameworks. Define an insights-led vision to mobilize team to execute those strategies.  Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Annual Strategy: Set the vision and lay the framework for your respective businesses and area. Partner across leaders such as Category Site Merchandising leaders to understand business dynamics & opportunities. Actively bring together goals of the business, Marketing and Digital (such as advancing loyalty, personalization, site monetization) and brand to develop experience goals and frameworks against a set of clear KPIs to activate your teams. 

  • Quarterly Strategy: In partnership with Senior Leaders & cross functional partners, develop & cascade quarterly priorities inclusive of building blocks, key opportunities, dependencies and quarterly activation priorities across functions within Site Merchandising. Play active role in strategy implementation at a quarterly level.  

  • Content Strategy. Work across Marketing and Digital teams to drive aligned vision of role of surface, role of content and storytelling best-methods to drive excellence within your team. Actively cross-share, develop testing plans and iterate as business and guest dynamics evolve.  

  • Analytics & Insights. Monitor, understand, and utilize data and key metrics from multiple and varied sources to guide short and long-term strategies. Stay current on the external and competitive landscape, guest sentiment and mindset, industry and digital retail trends to drive evolution of Target’s future guest experience. 

  • Innovation:Identify and assess new whitespace opportunities with a focus on leveraging Target’s unique combination of assortment, experience, brand and technology.

  • Results & Financial Accountability:Maintain a strong sense of accountability for delivering financial results, ensuring strategies drive topline sales, profitability, and guest engagement.

Partnerships and Influence: 

  • Horizontal Leadership: Work across broad diversity of AOEs within Digital, Marketing, and Enterprise Partners- wearing different hats across roundtables, always driving with a POV that balances guest, business & brand needs. Exposure and opportunity to work on diverse set of high visibility projects & initiatives. Opportunity to drive innovation & differentiation from unique vantage-point across the insights & strategies of these many AOEs. 

  • Communication: Leverage your strong written & verbal communication skills to onboard partners and leaders to your strategies across a broad spectrum of partners including executive leadership in Digital, Merchandising and Marketing. 

  • Enterprise Change Agent: Play critical role in the modernization and transformation of Digital at Target. Lead through change with both a POV and strong empathy, directly and indirectly across team and partners. 

 

Team Leadership: 

  • Lead a team of 8 team members 

  • Drive team member development, performance, and expectations while expanding team member knowledge base within Digital and Site Merchandising.  

  • Strong global leadership fostering collaboration, communication, efficiency, and speed in building and supporting a global business model. 

  • Create and maintain a positive team culture by demonstrating behaviors consistent with Target’s values.

About you:  

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience 

  • 10+ years of experience within ecommerce, Marketing, Digital Media, Marketing, Strategy or equivalent experience 

  • Proven leadership experience, ability to lead and develop high performing team members 

  • Excellent communication skills, with proven track record of building strong working relationships with executive leaders across functions and businesses 

  • Excellent strategic, analytical, critical thinking &problem-solvingskills

  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple, disparate projects across disciplines at the same time, simultaneously managing working team & partners while driving outcomes�
