Job Description

The Director of Decision Support leads the organization's analytical, cost accounting, and financial decision support functions. This role provides actionable insights to executive leadership, clinical leaders, and operations to support strategic planning, service line performance, pricing, contract modeling, and cost management. The Director of Decision Support position will manage various integrated decision support applications and work collaboratively with Centra's enterprise data team to achieve consistent and accurate business intelligence.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and delivery of financial analyses supporting strategic initiatives, service line performance, growth strategies, and operational improvement.
  • Partner with financial and operational leaders to evaluate financial impact of volume changes, new programs, capital investments, and care delivery models.
  • Develop proformas, ROI analyses, and scenario modeling for business cases and strategic decisions.
  • Translate complex financial and cost data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Administer applications for financial reporting, capital tracking, budgeting, and productivity.
  • Oversee the organization's cost accounting system and methodologies, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with best practices.
  • Ensure timely updates to cost structures, including labor, supplies, implants, pharmaceuticals, and overhead.
  • Develop training programs for personnel within the organization regarding use of specialized and analytical reports as well as reporting tools.
  • Partner with IT and data teams to optimize data integrity across financial, clinical, and operational systems (e.g., GL, cost accounting, EHR).
  • Ensure appropriate controls, documentation, and governance around financial models and data sources.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance analytics capabilities.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop decision support and cost accounting staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance

Preferred Education: Masters Degree in Accounting of Finance, CPA, CMA, or HFMA certification

Required Experience:
  • Five (5) years of progressive healthcare finance experience, including decision support and cost accounting. Experience in multi-hospital or integrated health system environments preferred. Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Advanced experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data querying. Proven ability to communicate complex financial concepts to executive and clinical audiences. Leadership experience managing and developing teams. Thorough knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, and business planning, revenue cycle and reimbursement, and health care administration within an integrated system-based delivery organization is preferred.

Travel Required

Travel is expected to be between 0% and 5% of the time.

Salary Range: $133,227.00 - $213,163.00 per year
