Position Summary
General Atlantic is looking to hire a Data Product Manager to drive the vision, roadmap, and delivery of data and analytics products that power decision-making across the firm's investment, finance, and operations teams. This role will focus on building and scaling high-quality data platforms, curated data sets, and analytical experiences (dashboards, reports, self-service tools) that enable stakeholders to access trusted, timely insights.
You will act as a critical liaison between business stakeholders (e.g., Investment, Capital Solutions, Finance, Human Capital), data engineers, BI developers, and application teams, translating business needs into data products with clear outcomes and measurable value. This position will report directly to the Senior Director of Project/Product Management.
Responsibilities
Product strategy & roadmap
• Define and own the product vision and multi-release roadmap for GA's core data and analytics platforms and products, aligned to firm and departmental priorities
• Translate business goals into clear problem statements, hypotheses, and outcome-oriented use cases for data products (e.g., portfolio analytics, fundraising and investor reporting, operational dashboards)
• Partner with technology leadership to make build vs buy decisions, evaluate third-party tools, and shape the overall data architecture and product strategy
Requirements, backlog, and stakeholder engagement
• Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders to capture, refine, and prioritize enhancements and new data product requests
• Facilitate requirement sessions, translate business needs into well-structured epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria, and maintain a transparent, prioritized backlog in tools such as Jira
• Communicate roadmap, release plans, and changes to stakeholders; manage expectations and trade-offs across competing priorities
Delivery & execution
• Work hand-in-hand with data engineers, BI developers, and application teams to design solutions, validate feasibility, and ensure requirements are well-defined to minimize rework
• Lead end-to-end delivery for data products, including design, development, testing, launch, and post-go-live stabilization
• Coordinate user acceptance testing, define test scenarios, and oversee execution with business partners
• Prepare concise status updates and materials for working teams and senior/executive stakeholders
Data model, quality, and governance
• Partner with data engineering and architecture teams to design scalable, well-documented data models and semantic layers aligned to business concepts and reporting needs
• Define and track data quality requirements (completeness, accuracy, timeliness), and collaborate on validation frameworks, monitoring, and remediation workflows
• Contribute to data governance practices including definitions, lineage, access controls, and stewardship model for key data domains
Analytics, adoption, and continuous improvement
• Define and instrument KPIs to measure data product adoption, performance, and business impact; use these to inform backlog prioritization and investment decisions
• Continuously gather feedback, analyze usage patterns, and iterate on product features, UX, and documentation to improve usability and value
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree in a quantitative, business, or technology field is a plus
• 10+ years of experience in product management or closely related roles, with a focus on data platforms, analytics, or business intelligence products
• Experience delivering large-scale technology product implementations where you owned the product vision and roadmap, collaborated across cross-functional teams, and drove outcomes in complex environments
• Strong understanding of data and analytics concepts, such as data modeling, ETL/ELT, data warehouses/lakes, semantic layers, and BI/visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
• Demonstrated ability to translate business problems into data product requirements and incremental, executable roadmaps with clear milestones and value along the way
• Comfort working with data hands-on (e.g., writing queries in SQL, exploring data sets, partnering closely with engineers on technical trade-offs)
• Experience in private equity, alternative investments, or financial services, or in data products that support investment, portfolio, or investor reporting, is strongly preferred
• Experience working within Agile or hybrid SDLC methodologies; familiarity with Jira and Confluence is preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to tailor messages for senior executives
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with sharp attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
• Background with reporting or analytics use cases relevant to private markets investing (e.g., portfolio performance, fundraising/investor reporting, fund accounting, risk and exposure)
• Familiarity with tools used across GA's environment (e.g., Salesforce, Investran, iLevel, Workday) is a plus
• Experience establishing and tracking product success metrics and using them to drive iteration and prioritization

• Competitive compensation
• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
• Retirement savings plan with employer matching
