Full Job Description
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you'll be at the intersection of data and execution. You will own the analytics function that tells us whether our network is healthy, where our costs are leaking, how our partners are performing, and what we should do next - before the problem shows up in a complaint. You will translate operational complexity into the forward-looking signal that drives decisions, build the team and infrastructure to do it at scale, and partner directly with the COO and senior ops leaders to shape how ezCater operates at $10B.

What You'll Do:
  • Serve as a key thought partner to the COO and Operations leadership team, synthesizing findings from across our network of delivery and restaurant partners and customer support into clear recommendations that influence decisions at the Management Team level.
  • Own the strategic direction and roadmap for Operations analytics, setting priorities, building team capability, and creating the structure needed to scale the function as the company grows.
  • Lead and develop a team of 7 analysts, developing talent, and driving a culture of rigor, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Build a data-driven operations culture, moving the org away from averages toward nuanced segmentation that separates signal from noise and surfaces what drives impact.
  • Champion a test-and-learn mindset across the ops org, normalizing experimentation, creating psychological safety to fail fast, and building the analytical infrastructure that makes every initiative measurable.
  • Own the data foundation for Operations analytics, building reporting-ready models in Snowflake via dbt, establishing KPI cadences and dashboards that create a single version of the truth for operational performance across the business.
  • Partner closely with Data Tech, Technology, Product, and Finance to align on data infrastructure, tooling investments, and shared definitions of performance - including instrumentation, data quality, and the integrity of our operational data pipeline.

What You Have:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in analytics or data science, including at least 3 years leading a team in a high-velocity operations or B2B technology environment.
  • Direct experience working in a multi-sided marketplace, with a deep understanding of the dynamics between supply, demand, and fulfillment and how operational decisions ripple across all sides.
  • Proven ability to build and scale an analytics function, including hiring, developing, and managing analysts and data scientists across multiple workstreams.
  • Deep expertise in operational analytics, including network performance, partner health, cost efficiency, and customer experience metrics - with experience in cohort analysis, partner segmentation, and time series analysis to understand how performance evolves and where impact is concentrated.
  • Exceptional analytical depth, including causal inference, A/B and switchback testing methodologies, and the ability to separate signal from noise in complex, high-volume operational environments.
  • Expert-level fluency across the modern data stack including SQL, Python or R, Snowflake, and dbt, with familiarity with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau and experience building self-service reporting infrastructure that reduces ad hoc demand.
  • Demonstrated ability to shape strategy at the leadership level, translating complex technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for executives and cross-functional partners.
  • A strong bias toward action, with the ability to move quickly from analysis to recommendation to execution in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where speed of insight matters as much as depth.
  • Ability to travel up to 5 days per quarter for Together Weeks, team gatherings and other events, when applicable.

The national total targetcash compensation range for this position, including base salary and bonus target, is $235,68-$328,656 annually.*

*Please note: Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise and region & may vary from the amount above. This range does not represent additional compensation benefits (such as equity, 401K or medical, dental or vision insurance).

ezCater does not sponsor applicants for work visas or legal permanent residence.

What You'll Get from Us:

You'll get a terrifically compelling experience in an innovative, high performing environment. You'll get to work with engaged and passionate colleagues on challenging and impactful projects. You will have opportunities to grow in your career, and work in a place that values work/life harmony.

Oh, and you'll get all this: Market competitive salary, stock options that you'll help make worth a lot, 12 paid holidays, flexible PTO, 401K with ezCater match, health/dental/FSA, long-term disability insurance, mental health and family planning resources, remote-hybrid work from our awesome Boston office OR your home OR a mixture of both home and office, a tremendous amount of responsibility and autonomy, wicked awesome co-workers, employee meal program (and many more goodies) when you're in our office, and knowing that you helped transform the food for work space.
