Job Title: Director - Cyber Platform (Splunk/Kubernetes/Azure)

Location(s): New York City, NY

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SVP/Director - Cyber Technology Platform to join a Cyber Technology team responsible for designing, engineering, and scaling enterprise cyber data platforms. This is a highly technical leadership role focused on building resilient, scalable data ingestion pipelines, enabling cloud-native observability, and driving platform engineering excellence across hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, engineer, and scale enterprise cyber data ingestion pipelines, with a focus on Splunk and similar platforms.
  • Lead onboarding and integration of application, infrastructure, Kubernetes, and cloud-native data sources.
  • Engineer and optimize data ingestion technologies including HTTP Event Collector (HEC), Universal/Heavy Forwarders, syslog, and edge processing solutions.
  • Enable Kubernetes-based logging, monitoring, and observability across containerized environments.
  • Integrate cyber data platforms with Azure cloud services and modern application architectures.
  • Improve data quality, normalization, and consistency across distributed enterprise environments.
  • Identify and mitigate platform reliability risks and systemic outages.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement scalable engineering solutions.
  • Design and automate platform deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps methodologies.
  • Support incident response, production escalations, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
  • Perform platform management, system design, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Drive operational excellence through automation and continuous platform improvements.
  • Document engineering solutions, architecture decisions, and technical standards.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to enable scalable self-service onboarding capabilities.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership across the organization.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong experience with enterprise-scale data platforms, preferably Splunk (ELK, Kafka, or similar platforms also considered).
  • Deep expertise with Kubernetes, containerized environments, and cloud-native logging/observability.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and operating large-scale distributed data ingestion pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Splunk Universal Forwarders, Heavy Forwarders, HEC, syslog, or comparable ingestion technologies.
    • Programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or similar.
    • Configuration management and Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform and Ansible.
  • Strong Linux administration, networking, and operating system fundamentals.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex distributed systems across enterprise environments.
  • Experience integrating systems using APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps engineering practices.
  • Understanding of operational risk management, system controls, and security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with enterprise logging and observability platforms.
  • Knowledge of log data modeling, normalization, and schema design.
  • Experience integrating cybersecurity technologies such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, and related platforms.
  • Exposure to AI/ML applications for large-scale data analysis.
  • Experience designing and optimizing distributed systems for performance and scalability.
  • Strong background in cloud-native architectures and container technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience driving automation through CI/CD and DevOps practices.
