About Customer2030

Innovation is at the forefront of what we do at AstraZeneca. We are investing in a multi-year transformation of our US Oncology go-to-market model to enable more precise, coordinated, and personalized customer engagement. We are building AI-enabled capabilities for more than 1,000 employees across our Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Patient Services organizations that will amplify what we already do well, help us work smarter, and make us more relevant to our customers. By embracing AI and technology, we will better meet the future needs of our customers and their patients in how we bring our ground-breaking clinical pipeline to market.

What you'll do

The Director, AI Customer Engagement, US Oncology is the product owner and strategist for the AI capabilities powering Sales and Marketing across US Oncology. Reporting to the Head of Innovation & Business Planning, you will own the strategy and roadmap for these capabilities - and the way our Sales and Marketing teams put them to work every day.

The role sits at the center of Oncology commercialization, business transformation, and AI / technology fluency. You will champion AI solutions that drive tangible business value. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of Sales and Marketing AI capabilities, from ideation to delivery. Further, you will be the bridge between US Oncology and the broader AstraZeneca enterprise for customer engagement capability building.

Responsibilities include:

Program strategy
  • Own the strategy and transformation roadmap for Sales and Marketing AI capabilities, overseeing planning and budget management processes
  • Develop quantifiable business cases and value narratives for future Sales and Marketing capabilities in collaboration with US Oncology Franchises and technical delivery teams
  • Support engagement with the US Oncology Leadership team (OLT) to ensure top-down alignment on the AI roadmap and shared decisions on how key capabilities are designed
  • Track industry, market, and innovation shifts to anticipate opportunities and risks

Capability building and change management
  • Set the direction for how we build Sales and Marketing capabilities, prioritizing solutions that meet key business needs and are scalable and sustainable
  • Identify people and process changes required to successfully stand-up sales and marketing capabilities
  • Act as change leader, delivering the Customer2030 narrative for sales and marketing teams, also partnering with Business Excellence and Franchise teams on the training plan

Execution excellence
  • Ensure accurate and timely translation of business needs into technical requirements in partnership with Enterprise AI (data science)
  • Approve scope and release of major AI updates
  • Track progress and surface interdependencies, creatively addressing key challenges and blockers and escalating to senior leadership as necessary

Qualifications for the Role:

Minimum requirements:
  • At least 5 years professional experience in a Pharma commercial function (or as part of a strategy consulting firm supporting the Pharma industry)
  • Strong analytical fluency, able to translate between brand strategy, commercial operations, and technology teams
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to operate successfully in highly matrixed organizations
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship management skills with consultative approach and ability to interact and build trust
  • Strong initiative to understand our core business goals, setting direction, building alignment, and driving work forward
  • Resourceful, proactive, and influential, able to prioritize in a fast-growing organization

Preferred requirements:
  • Graduate degree (MBA, Masters, MD or PhD preferred)
  • Demonstrated commercial experience in Oncology

Why this role

This is a rare opportunity to define a first-of-its-kind capability at the intersection of oncology, marketing & sales, and AI, with high visibility across US Oncology leadership and the broader enterprise. You will shape how more than 1,000 colleagues engage customers, and help bring our ground-breaking medicines to patients faster.

What you can expect: great working atmosphere empowering you to reach your full potential, endless development opportunities and benefits like: medical & life insurance, annual bonus, education cost reimbursement, occasional allowances (Christmas, holiday), anniversary awards, additional time off, pension plan, business travel insurance, recognition program, flexible working hours.
