Job Description
The Director, Corporate Development serves as a strategic advisor and enterprise leader responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing M&A growth opportunities that advance Allstate's long-term business objectives. This role leads all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures, from opportunity assessment and valuation through transaction execution and integration planning.
Partnering closely with senior executives, business leaders, Finance, Legal, Strategy, and external advisors, the Director develops perspectives on market opportunities, industry trends, and strategic alternatives while driving disciplined capital deployment and value creation. The role combines deep transaction expertise, financial acumen, executive influence, and strong external relationship management to position Allstate for future growth.

Key responsibilities include:
Corporate Development Strategy
• Partner with executive leadership to identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic growth opportunities aligned to enterprise objectives.
• Develop and maintain a corporate development pipeline, including acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, emerging technologies, and market developments to identify potential opportunities and risks.
• Provide strategic recommendations regarding portfolio optimization, capital deployment, and business growth initiatives.
Deal Sourcing & Relationship Management
• Cultivate and manage relationships with investment banks, advisors, and other external market participants.
• Develop proprietary and advisor-led deal flow to support enterprise growth objectives.
• Represent Allstate in discussions with external partners, acquisition targets, and stakeholders.
Financial Analysis & Valuation
• Lead rigorous financial modeling, business valuation, and scenario analysis to assess strategic alternatives and investment opportunities. Supplement with understanding of precedent market deals.
• Evaluate transaction economics, synergy opportunities, risks, and return expectations.
• Communicate valuation rationale, analytics, alternative valuations and recommendations to executive audience
Transaction Execution
• Lead end-to-end execution of mergers, acquisitions, and joint venture transactions.
• Direct cross-functional deal teams and coordinate diligence and deal activities across Finance, Accounting, Legal, Tax, Treasury, HR, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and business unit experts.
• Structure and negotiate transaction terms to optimize strategic and financial outcomes.
• Manage transaction timelines, governance requirements, and executive decision-making processes.
• Synthesize diligence findings into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
Integration & Value Realization
• Partner with business leaders to develop integration strategies, operating models, and value creation plans.
• Establish frameworks to monitor synergy realization and transaction performance.
• Conduct post-acquisition and post-divestiture reviews to assess outcomes and capture lessons learned.
Leadership & Influence
• Build and develop a high-performing corporate development function.
• Influence senior leaders and business partners through strategic insight, data-driven recommendations, and trusted advisory relationships.
• Foster collaboration across enterprise stakeholders to drive alignment and successful execution of strategic initiatives.

Required Experience
• 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, strategy consulting, or related disciplines.
• Significant experience leading complex transactions from origination through execution and integration.
• Demonstrated experience developing executive-level recommendations and influencing senior decision makers.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in highly complex and ambiguous environments.
Preferred Experience
• Experience within financial services, insurance, fintech, or adjacent regulated industries.
• Experience partnering with executive leadership teams.
• Prior leadership responsibility for building and developing teams.

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• MBA, CFA, CPA, or other relevant advanced degree/certification preferred.

Compensation offered for this role is 187,000.00 - 268,000.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
