Full Job Description
Fresh off being named Ad Age's 2025 Business Transformation Agency of the Year and Adweek's 2025 U.S. Media Agency of the Year, GALE is looking for a Director to join its Corporate Communications team. In this high-visibility and high-ownership position, you'll play a direct role in keeping that momentum going, while supporting GALE's next wave of growth.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director, Corporate Communications will help elevate GALE's external presence, extend brand awareness, and support business growth. You'll partner closely with the Vice President, Corporate Communications, supported by a collaborative team, to drive strategy and execution across everything the team owns: external and internal communications, executive positioning, events, thought leadership, owned channels (social media, website, etc), and more. In particular, the Director will own media relations, steer the agency's award strategy (e.g., Ad Age A-List, Cannes Lions, etc.), and play an active role in team management.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute a proactive media relations strategy, elevating GALE and its leaders through meaningful coverage in ad trades and business publications
  • Own and manage GALE's press relationships from ideation through pitching
  • Operate as a newsroom: Partner with agency and client team leads to surface and shape stories worth telling, stay ahead of industry trends, and inject GALE subject matter experts into the cultural conversation
  • Build annual awards strategy and craft winning submissions across agency, creative, and people awards
  • Help drive tentpole thought leadership initiatives and events
  • Advise across all internal and external brand materials
  • Strengthen internal processes and tracking/reporting
  • Serve as mentor and resource for junior team members, supporting across owned channel strategy and material reviews (e.g., social media copy, blogs, newsletters, etc.)

What We're Looking For

  • A seasoned communicator who knows how to build relationships, tell a good story, and foster an environment of collaboration and growth.
  • 8+ years experience in communications or marketing, with meaningful time spent in media relations. Corporate communications experience preferred.
  • A solid understanding of the agency/broader marketing industry.
  • Strong writing and communications skills.
  • Experience managing or mentoring others.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize across multiple workstreams.
  • Curious, creative, and self-driven.

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target compensation for this role is $150,000 to $175,000 per year.
