Director, Business DevelopmentLocation: New York, NY
Reporting to the Vice President, Business Development, the Director - Corporate and Business Development will focus on identifying, underwriting and executing renewable power investment opportunities; developing and executing strategic growth initiatives; overseeing corporate and portfolio-level modeling; and facilitating capital recycling initiatives. Brookfield Renewable North America's strategy is to leverage Brookfield's competitive advantages, including scale, local operating presence, access to large-scale capital and an operations-oriented approach, to advance and acquire high-quality clean energy assets on a value basis. The Director - Corporate and Business Development will participate in broader investment strategies through other Brookfield sponsored investment vehicles with a focus on U.S and Canadian operations. Responsibilities: - Lead or support transaction execution, including due diligence of potential investments, identification of key investment merits and risks, meeting with management teams, review of transaction documentation, and coordination with third-party consultants and advisors as required
- Allocate business development and transaction mandates to team members, review work product and provide individual performance feedback to drive professional growth;
- Monitor existing portfolio assets and develop & implement value-enhancing business plan initiatives, including strategic forecasting, capital allocation analysis and asset-level performance reviews
- Conduct valuations of assets and companies in the renewable power space using various methods such as comparable company analysis, precedent transactions and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) valuations;
- Oversee and manage the construction, review and maintenance of detailed financial models used to evaluate potential transactions, support underwriting, and inform strategic decision-making;
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to contribute to the due diligence process and liaise with external stakeholders in evaluation of investment opportunities;
- Develop detailed business plans and investment materials to support Brookfield Renewable North America senior management in decision-making related to strategic initiatives, growth opportunities and capital recycling
- Assist in developing ideas for potential transaction and deal structures, perform industry research and evaluate new market segments and potential opportunities;
- Create presentation materials and present to senior management team, Board and investment committees in a concise and comprehensive manner;
- Manage special projects as required.
Requirements:- University degree in a quantitative field such as finance, business, economics, or accounting with high academic standing
- 7+years of relevant work experience, preferably in renewable power, infrastructure, private equity, investment banking, project finance, transaction services or corporate development
- Experience conducting research and due diligence, evaluating transaction opportunities, performing financial and valuation analysis, and producing investment materials for senior management
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of financial models,
- Proficiency with PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office tools.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $235,000
