Job description

Join our first-class team to reinvent in-flight experience. In the role of Director, Continuous Improvement you'll play a pivotal part on our Director, Continuous Improvement team. The Director of Continuous Improvement is responsible for managing key initiatives and stakeholders in their goals for operational excellence, coordinating and leading continuous improvement activities within the Cabin Division. This position acts as the interface between the Cabin Division, SAFRAN Cabin branch, and Safran Group continuous improvement organizations and teams, ensuring methodological alignment in activities. The role will use Lean-Sigma and One SAFRAN methodology and tools to ensure success in CI initiatives, and to make positive impacts to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

This position will also play a vital role in the deployment and monitoring of QRQC maturity improvement initiatives across the site, and actively contributes to the continuous improvement culture development by means of its promotion, Lean Sigma methodology training and active communication within the site. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

This position contributes to our vision by:
• Leads Lean and CI projects, coordinating the work of other team members and functions to meet operational excellence goals.
• Develops and maintains the projects master plan, aligned with the SAFRAN Group's guidelines and company's vision, measuring progress and performance to ensure results achievement.
• Initiates and drives overall the Cabin Division operational excellence initiatives to achieve its objectives, supported by analysis of capabilities and capacities, other relevant data and information
• Serves as a key enabler of performance improvement activities by integrating people, process, and technology following departmental project management best practices. Leverages resources and share best practices across all sites.
• Promotes the SAFRAN Continuous Improvement (CI) vision and translates it into divisional strategy of implementation.
• The CI focal point of the Cabin Division and represents the division's interests to SAFRAN CI Group
• Coaches, mentors and trains team members in Lean Sigma methodology and use of its tools
• Communicates about changes, progresses and performances.
• Manage standardization and documentation regarding continuous improvement at the Cabin Division, aligning with SAFRAN GROUP best practices.
• Plan, design, direct and cascade QRQC Standards across the Cabin Division, adjust standards as needed.
• Support the Division and Site leadership teams to identify QRQC objectives
• Audit and analyze QRQC deployment versus standards
• Develops, promotes and drives a continuous and sustainable improvement culture based on Safety, Quality and Operational Excellence

Cabin TA:

• Management roles may be eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

The expected salary range for this position is between $133,230 - $209,360 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.

Candidate skills & requirements

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
• 8+ years of experience in the following areas: Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain; Production; Quality; Engineering; Project / Program Management; NPI.
• Prior management or lead experiences is preferred
Knowledge:
• Lean and Six Sigma
• Knowledge of the group, its management system, processes and organizations
• Knowledge of manufacturing / industrial engineering best practices, processes and operations
• Knowledge of change management in complex organizations
• Knowledge of basics in terms of techno-economic management and performance management
Computer Skills:
• Proficiency in the use of common software packages including MS Office suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint
• Proficiency in other tools for managing projects, analyzing capabilities and capacities, SPC's, continuous flow, etc.
Other Skills:
• Lean Black Belt Certifications is preferred
• Ability to lead and manage projects up to larger scales and complexity
• Ability to manage cross functionally with direct and indirect influence
• Capacity to operate in a multi-disciplinary, diverse and international environment
