The RoleThe Director, Consultant Relations - Alternatives will leverage well-established industry knowledge to maintain and strengthen the firm's presence and relationships within the consultant community.
We'll trust you to:- Lead and help develop the Consultant Relations strategic approach toward the dedicated alternative investment consulting firms and aide the existing team toward similar objectives with the more traditional consulting firms where it relates to Lord Abbett Alternative Investment capabilities
- Partner with both the Institutional Sales Team and the Relationship Management Team to foster a high-trust environment of teamwork and collaboration in the pursuit of our goals and objectives
- Act as primary relationship manager on global and national alternatives consulting firms by extending Lord Abbett resources to deliver differentiated solutions and best-in-class client experience
- Drive engagement across the consultant organizations focused primarily on Manager Research, Field Consultants, OCIO, and Senior Management to promote our firm and investment capabilities
- Understand the consultant research agenda, working with all key partners to learn from consultants to ensure internal awareness of trends to spark future product development
- Represent Lord Abbett in the institutional marketplace and bring external themes back to the organization in order to keep the firm current with industry insights
- Understand key competitors and industry trends
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the firm, our culture, capital markets, and investment capability across fixed income, equity, and alternatives
- Actively represent Lord Abbett at industry functions and conferences
You'll need to have:- 7+ years of investment or consultant relations/sales/relationship management experience, with an emphasis on pre-existing knowledge and relationships within alternative markets, ideally gained from working at an institutional asset manager

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $220,000-$240,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
