About the Role

InMarket is seeking a Director, Communications to shape how the company tells its story in the market through high-quality content, research, thought leadership, and brand storytelling.

This is a senior individual contributor role for an exceptional writer and storyteller who can translate complex data, technology, and industry trends into compelling content that strengthens InMarket's brand and establishes the company as a trusted authority in consumer intelligence, advertising technology, and measurement.

The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, writer, and editor, with a strong ability to identify compelling stories and turn them into research reports, case studies, white papers, executive thought leadership, articles, and other high-impact content. This person will work closely with the CMO, Product, Insights, Sales, and Executive Leadership to develop content that supports the company's brand, commercial priorities, and market positioning.
Your Daily Impact as Director, Communications:
Content Strategy & Brand Storytelling
  • Develop and execute InMarket's content and brand storytelling strategy in alignment with company priorities and go-to-market objectives.
  • Define and evolve the company's core narratives, messaging, and points of view across consumer intelligence, advertising, data, and measurement.
  • Identify opportunities to turn InMarket's data, client results, research, and industry expertise into compelling stories and differentiated content.
  • Serve as a trusted editorial partner to executives and internal subject matter experts.
Research, Reports & Case Studies
  • Own the development of high-quality research reports, case studies, white papers, industry insights, and flagship content from concept through publication.
  • Partner with Insights, Product, Sales, and clients to identify compelling data points, customer stories, and market trends that can be developed into content.
  • Conduct interviews with internal and external subject matter experts to uncover insights and build compelling narratives.
  • Translate complex data, technology, and measurement concepts into clear, accessible, and engaging stories.
  • Develop case studies that clearly demonstrate client challenges, InMarket solutions, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Establish editorial standards and processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across all external content.
Executive & Thought Leadership Content
  • Develop executive thought leadership, including bylines, articles, speeches, presentations, talking points, and LinkedIn content.
  • Partner with executives to develop authentic points of view on relevant industry trends and topics.
  • Identify opportunities to position InMarket executives and subject matter experts as credible voices within the advertising, media, data, and measurement industries.
  • Prepare executives for speaking engagements, interviews, panels, and other external opportunities as needed.
Brand & Content Distribution
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure content is effectively distributed across InMarket's website, social channels, email, events, sales materials, and other owned channels.
  • Develop content calendars and editorial plans that create consistency and momentum around InMarket's key narratives.
  • Work with external partners and agencies as needed to amplify key content and brand initiatives.
  • Ensure all external-facing content reflects a consistent, differentiated InMarket brand.
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Insights, Sales, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to identify stories and content opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to develop content that supports customer conversations, sales enablement, and broader GTM initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with internal subject matter experts and become deeply knowledgeable about InMarket's products, data, technology, and client outcomes.
  • Bring an editorial and storytelling lens to major company announcements, product launches, research releases, and industry initiatives.
Content Performance & Optimization
  • Establish metrics to evaluate content performance, engagement, and contribution to brand and business objectives.
  • Use performance insights to continuously improve content strategy, topics, formats, and distribution.
  • Maintain an editorial roadmap that prioritizes high-impact content aligned with company and commercial priorities.
Your Experience & Expertise:
  • 6+ years of experience in content marketing, brand storytelling, journalism, corporate communications, editorial, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong ability to make complex topics clear, compelling, and accessible.
  • Demonstrated experience developing research reports, case studies, white papers, thought leadership, and other long-form content.
  • Strong editorial judgment and the ability to develop a distinctive brand voice.
  • Experience interviewing executives, clients, and subject matter experts and turning those conversations into compelling narratives.
  • Ability to independently take a project from idea 12 research 12 interviews 12 writing 12 editing 12 final publication.
  • Strong understanding of B2B audiences and the ability to create content that is both intellectually compelling and commercially relevant.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple content initiatives simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

For candidates in California, Colorado, New York City, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont and Massachusetts, the Targeted Base Salary Range for this role is $150,000-165,000.

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to work experience, specialized skills and training, performance in role, business needs, and job requirements. Base salary is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Base salary is just one component of InMarket's total rewards package that may also include bonus, equity, and benefits.
