What is the opportunity?

Member of the RBC Capital Markets Client Lifecycle Management Group, under the COO Function. A people manager and a major contributor to the team's deliverables in the capacity of Director, Program Lead for the strategic End-to-End Client Lifecycle Management Program.

What will you do?

Project / Program Delivery
  • Support the Client Lifecycle Management Group (CLMG) in the delivery of assigned projects, major initiatives, and business management / regulatory requests
  • Apply knowledge of the Capital Markets industry and direct project leaders in the definition & execution of projects plans, managing executive sponsors, and identifying and managing project risks & issues
  • Regularly provide executive sponsors project status, milestones, achievements, and risks / issues in both formal and informal settings
  • Provide the team guidance on the creation of project artifacts and provide real-time feedback and coaching to improve quality and capabilities of the team. Ensure we are leveraging enterprise standards and templates.
  • Own key relationships with the Businesses and Functions, as well as broadly across RBC, to facilitate project execution and the transfer of knowledge after project completion
  • Apply strong business acumen and strategic / financial analysis to execute on assigned projects and/or project tasks, including planning, analysis, assessment of alternatives / develop recommendations, and communication of results


Employee Development
  • Provide focus and clarity in establishing individual goals, driving performance management, supporting career development / mobility and rewarding strong performance
  • Responsible for hiring of open roles on the team, including role posting and interviewing candidates


Business Management
  • Contribute to annual capex planning, prioritization and direction setting, as well as project financials for CLMG
  • Develop metrics and measurement criteria to assess performance against goals and KPIs and coordinate addressing opportunities and issues identified


Managerial Excellence:
  • Ensure that employees understand RBC vision, as well as support and reinforce targeted behaviours that contribute to RBC goals
  • Leverage the value in unit, department, and enterprise-wide teams to develop better solutions and achieve a cross enterprise mindset
  • Accept and successfully execute change while supporting employees through the process, and keeping them focused on business priorities
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the team's Associates / Analysts


What do you need to succeed?

Must have's:
  • Director: 10-15 years of management consulting work experience (ideally strategy, efficiency, and business operating model) with demonstrated track record of thought leadership, strong business analysis and business communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge and passion for capital markets, data analytics, business financials
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel (financial modelling, pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint (strong storyboarding of executive level presentations)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with comfort reviewing and presenting complex documentation with senior executives / CxOs and demonstrated ability in stakeholder and relationship management
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness and enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with multiple and evolving demands, solving complex ambiguous business problems and non-standard working hours
  • Undergraduate university degree required


Nice-to-have's:
  • Previous experience leading an end-to-end client onboarding / KYC transformation program in a Capital Markets domain
  • Understanding of risk management and financial performance management
  • Industry recognized Project Management accreditation
  • Masters university degree (e.g. MBA, MFin, etc.)
